My 2011 info

I wrote an email to the dealer in Plano Texas about wanting to get a ordered ww evo and got this response:
Hello Craig,
thank you for your interest in the Mitsubishi Evolution Lancer . I am Charles Butler, internet sales manager for Don Herring Mitsubishi Plano. Right now what we are odering is 2011 models . However, typically a deposit of $2,500 is all we need to order a vehicle , thgis deposit goes toward the purchase of the vehicle of course. However, we deem it non-refundable to ensure that you are 100% positive this is the vehicle that you want. Did you want this vehicle with the SSS package ? Or just the Aero Package ? Please let me know how you would like to proceed and thank you again.

Charles Butler
Internet Sales Manager
Don Herring Mitsubishi

469-443-1815 Fax

Then asked:
Thank you for your fast reply. Yes i would like the SSS package as well. Also another question, is there any word on available options for the 2011? I really want the features from the MR touring, i just don't want the SST tranny. I would really like the seats and the added sound dampening.

As of yet i have not heard of a 2011 even being released, is there for sure going to be one stateside?

About the deposit, that should be no problem whatsoever. As soon as i get my official orders to Fort Worth i would like to go forward with this. What is the average time it takes for delivery after an order is placed?

And and got a resonse of:
Hello Craig,
I do not have info on the 2011 models as of yet, but it should be out soon. However, the seats can be added if you like. Once we make that first order on 2011, I will know what is different. By the way, what time is it in Japan ? Thank you again and I will be in touch as info comes forward.

So i have a better feeling about getting my eve upon return to the states

Cool! I'm interested to see how well they hook you up to add the MR T seats and dampening to the GSR. Good luck!

i doubt there will be any differences in 2011

if anything they will be winding up production midway through the year in preparation for the 2012 hybrid hehe

The seats are awesome, I wonder how much the price difference would be and if they are including the rear seats as well. (I think seat material in back is differerent, could be wrong though)

Depending on price they charge you, you may want to see if it is full priced, and if so, keep your stock GSR seats. Or else a mechanic at the dealer will have an awesome day putting them up for sale a day later.

Front and back seats are full leather in the Touring model.

A $2500 unrefundable deposit in this economy is flat out insane. Do NOT do that. There will be plenty to go around, I promise. Logically, you are 3 months minimum from delivery, wait until more info comes out from Mitsubishi directly.

I'd like to know how they know no information on the 2011, then go on to say you can put the MR Touring seats in an SSS? Don't make a rash decision.

The dealers probably could have probably ordered you a 2010 w/ MR Touring seats, if you wanted to pay for it/wait for a custom one to arrive on a slow boat from Japan, after battling Godzilla.

Are they releasing a 2011 evo or are they skipping a year like they did for the 09?

They did release a 2009 EVO X (we had them in Canada) just not in the US as lots were overstocked with 08's due to the economy taking a massive dump. They will be releasing a 2011 EVO X but right now but just haven't released information as of yet as maybe they are planning a few tweaks to answer Subaru's updated 2011 sedan that is to have revised handling.

I wouldn't take one poorly written letter from an Internet sales manager at a random dealership as proof positive that there'll be a 2011 MY.

If anything, all of the changes to the WRX lineup might make Mitsubishi just play it cool and not even mention a 2011 model, unless they have, ya know, a change that doesn't include a massaging leather chair or a denture holder in the MR-T-Executive line.

mitsubishi made a lot less 2010s than they made 2008s, if you go on cars.com or go down the list of dealers in your area you will probably see that there are slim pickings for the 2010 right now (unless they are sitting at ports waiting for dealers to buy?). i would guess that they are not making any 2010s right now. there arent any real incentives on them right now so i would guess that they will just sell out of 2010s and perhaps relase 2011 in late summer. only then if there are any 2010s left over, they will put some cash on them.

Yeh by no means am I going to send a deposit. I originally sent an email because i am getting orders out of japan soon, and after three years out here the x is really the only car that i have stuck with wanting. I wanted an STI but no smart key and recaros pushed me over the edge and now i want the evo more than i ever wanted the STI.

Anyways i am headed back to the states soon, and i want to make sure i can find a WW with the SSS and aero package, and would rely like the touring additions in my GSR. So i just sent this email to see whT steps to take to ensure the day i step off the plane i am driving my ww x
