Back into an EVO X?

I own a 2009 WRX and recently have been pondering if I should get rid of the WRX and purchase an EVO X. I used to own a EVO VIII and it was definitely a car that is unforgettable. Just looking for some feedback from people who have owned 03-06 and made the switch to the EVO X. I have done research and know the differences between the VIII, XI and X. But I would like to get opinions from 03-06 owners who made the switch. Wondering how your experiences have been with the EVO X.

Are you going to be upside down on the WRX? ... In terms of negative equity? Do you have the WRX 265 premium? They are pretty capable cars with mods.

I have a 2008 X MR, and for a DD/enthusiast car its freaking awesome. If it doesn't cripple you on monthly payments, an X would be a pretty big upgrade in terms of handling from the WRX... IMO

if you using it as a DD only, then after a simply tune the X is way better car for DD as the Evo 8.
For occasional tracks , i think the equally prepped 8-X the X still edging + the regular days is no question.
For little bit more or strict racing, where its getting complicated, the better build car will win.
In my opinion.
Rob

PS if you dont go too much dept then do it, or check out the 2011 WRX.

he has a WRX. *shrug* I thought the 09 WRX was a pretty decent car... Although I didn't get to test drive one.

When I was shopping for cars I was looking at

VW GTI
Mustang GT (thank god I didn't get this with the 5.0 coming out)
Mazaspeed 3
WRX / STI
EVO

Well I went and test drove the EVO, fell in-love and bought it that day. I wanted the GSR really badly, but the dealership ended up giving me the MR for the same price as the GSR and a little more off. Couldn't argue with that deal :\

I had an 03 VIII and now have a 10 X. In the intrum I drove a 04 Porsche 996 twin turbo X50 911. I missed the utility of the EVO but didn't want to go back to something completely stipped out. The Evo X is a nice alternative, Fast, four doors and a trunk (complain all you want about the EVO's trunk size, but compared to the 911's glove box trunk it's cavernous). While not as basic as the 8 the EVO still has the same DNA. You won't be sorry.

I went from a IX MR to a X GSR. Both cars have their pros and cons. I DD'd both for a while and that is the main reason i got rid of the IX for the X. Now i dont DD the X anymore due to having a beater. If i wouldnt have had to DD the IX, i would have kept it. If you will DD it, get the X, if it will sit and be anything but a DD, go for the IX.

I own the 2009 WRX and wouldn't be in any kind of upside situation. However, thinking about everything if I sold the WRX I would probably get 21k or 22k then I would have to put another 12k to 13k to get into an EVO X. Not sure that 13k additional (plus any mods) is worth it. Seems as of now I will stick with the WRX and mod it. thanks for the input

I came from a heavily modded 08 WRX (just check the link) to an Evo X

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...wrx-evo-x.html

It all depends on what you want from the car, I realized my next steps would have taken an STI swap and it just wasn't practical so I went back to stock and bought the X...

I've done little modding and it's already over where my WRX was power and about the same handling wise (I'll have coilovers on my X soon)

That's the point, if you're going to get to the point where you'll want to swap just buy and STI or Evo...

I posted my car since it literally had everything that could be done to it (STI Brembos, coilovers, VF52, EWG, Etc,) EXCEPT a full STI swap and it wasn't enough...
