Have a IX looking for a X, have a question though

As the title states I'm considering getting a Evo X GSR with the SSS package. The only color I really want is Octane Blue and for some reason not a lot of dealers have blue mostly just white, red, black, grey etc.

So I contacted the Mitsubishi Dealer where I bought my IX and they basically said I could either order one or they could see if they could find a dealer trade.

So if I ordered one they said it would take 3 months give or take, and for the dealer trade they said that there is a Blue one in Michigan but it has like 50-100 miles (somewhere around there).

I really don't want to buy a Evo X that has 100 miles on it...I know how I test drive cars and I know how salesman don't care whether you beat it or not. So those miles have to be hard miles. But on the other hand 3 months is a long wait.

What would you guys do?

I know some people will say find another color but I just love the Octane Blue.

You're in Kentucky? I'm in North Alabama and a dealer found an Octane Blue SSS about 150 miles from me, which can't be to far from you. I want it, or silver OR white, but if you really want it, go for it.

Let me see if I can find it..

EDIT:

DUDE how far away are you from "253 Dixie Hwy, Radcliff, KY 40160" ? They've got the one I'm talking about. The dealer I was going to buy it through, offered it to me for $35,400 which doesn't seem to bad with a $37,273 MSRP and means you probably can get a pretty good deal on it. It's at a Swope Hyandai dealer for some reason, though it's brand new. It doesn't show up on their website but shows on Autotrader.

Get the blue one that you want with the 100 miles on it. Dont worry about how it was test driven. In stock form how hard could someone really have driven it, it can take what ever you through at it, especially in stock form its not even strong enough to break anything.

For something that you really want, 3 months of waiting is not bad.

I wanted a white evo and I got a great price on one but it had 180 kms which is roughly 110 miles. I wasn't sure at first when I learned about the mileage, but I decided to get the car anyway. The car is perfect and there was no issue whatsoever.

I agree with everyone else, don't let the mileage scare you off. Mine had around 65miles on it when I bought it last year. I now have almost 27k on it with no problems.

if there really isnt any other OB x's around i would honestly wait... i just cant buy a car that has over 50 miles on it already... to me thats not even new anymore...

3 months is not that long... u can even save some money during those 3 months for a quick upgrade or something.

good luck man!

I agree. Whether I was shelling out that much money for any new car, I would want it to be brand new with 0 test drives. I'd love to be the one to take it home before the dealer even gets the plastic covering the whole car off

But then again thats just me...In all reality I don't think 100 miles is a big deal at all. You could possibly use that to your advantage and get the price of the X down lower.

No lol. I'm in Indiana, I'm going to be going to college in Kentucky come this August though.

Plus for the people who say use it as a bargaining chip to lower the price, dealers still play the "this is a rare and fast car".

No issues, and I got a good deal! I say if u find the OB X that u want and it has a few miles on it, go for it!
IDK lol. I test drove a 370Z and the salesman kept constantly telling me to redline it etc etc. So I did...

get the evo x with 100 miles on it but bargain for a discount as i personally think that anything over 25 miles counts as used. technically speaking anything over 0 is used though. you can assume they've test drove it a few times though so 25 would be my max unless they discounted it quite a bit.

I doubt they will discount much. For some reasons dealers love to play the "this is rare" speech.

You should have no problem buying a X at invoice, and maybe a few hundered under.
Only deal with the sales manager, internet manager, etc. Shoot them a email!

Use the fact that you don't know how the car was test driven as an excuse to get a good deal.

just from my experience, i really really wanted a white evo when i was searching, but my dealer didn't have it. they said they could get one from another dealer with a couple hundred miles on it, or i could take a brand new black one with 3 miles on it, right off the truck. i picked the black one, and to this day i still think about owning a white evo - i don't think the few hundred miles would bother me now, unless it was broken in horribly or something
