NO! Don't dare touch the boost level without tuning it unless you want to potentially ruin your car.

You can install a MBC and get tuned without any modifications however, you will not gain much.

Here, read this.. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...g-dummies.html

FWIW, my car came used with just a fmic, drop in, catback and MBC set to 22psi. Never really had a problem for 2k miles, but after much research I decided to go back to the stock boost control. Then, I flashed a Cobb Stage 2 map and it works perfectly. Pulls alot better than the stock map with MBC.

the best way to do it is to install the mbc right at the tunning shop so that way you can tune the car as you turn the boost up

Personally, I had my car tuned when putting on a MBC... Just wait 'til that happens.

You will have to tune anyways (eventually) with an MBC. For no price difference, pick yourself up a 3 port and tune with that. The ECU is more than capable of controlling boost. FWIW, i was tuned using an MBC last year. This summer i am switching over to a 3 port and going back to ECU based control with a retune.

You can throw a MBC on an otherwise stock car, just be easy on it until you get a tune. I'll be going the MBC route shortly.

Do you want simple or complicated? I tried both on my IX, it's no question in my mind for the X.

You should ask your tuner if they have a preference.

I might try this with the new build...I asked Shane his thoughts on this to see if the MBC would alleviate the bogging type issue i was getting in between shifts.
