plastic clippy thing replacement?
Hi Guys,
Ok so after installing my new air filter this morning (thanks Jon@HBSpeed) I did the stupid thing of dropping one of those plastic rivets into the darkness of the engine bay.
I dont really care about dropping it since it was a ***** to get out - must be loosing the thread or something.
Anyways does anyone have a replacement idea (preferably metal) for those 2 plastic rivet/screws that hold the front portion of the air filter box down?
Cheers

ie the screw will loose its thread and make it impossible to get out easily..
i like the push lock ones, they are a pain in the dirt thou, but should be fine for this purpose...
You may be surprised, but Lowe's actually has a pretty extensive collection of automotive fasteners, including all kinds of these clips. If you're in the states, that's a good way to go.
It looks like they're expanding into Australia, but they don't have their first store scheduled to open until 2011. The dealership may be your only option. Perhaps just have them sell you one of the push lock ones instead of the screw type. You could tell them its for the engine under tray or something.

You want something that is easily reusable multiple times and *most* of the other items referenced in this thread are intended for single use. So it they're cheap enough get a cup's worth.
