cold start problem for EVO X MR

Hi, my EVO X MR has a problem with cold start recently. Especially in the morning, it usually takes two attempts to start the engine. The car has 4800km on it and it just had its first service. That service guy can't find the problem and just told me to give a little bit throttle when trying to start.

Have you guys ever had the same problem? And how can I fix it?

Thanks.

Happened to my evo x when i got it maybe 2-3 times when i had like 500-1500 miles on it, but after that never happened since i wouldnt worry about it, just have them check your batteries i heard a few stories about faulty batteries.

Bring it to the dealer, tell them to fix it.

If they give you a hard time, ask for the keys to a new Evo on their lot, and provide them a demo of what your car does, and what it's supposed to do.

Might need to leave the car overnight so they can get a cold start, but whatever it takes.

Having the same issue. It doesn't happen everyday since my car is garage kept and it stays a little warmer than outside.

It's probably happened 20 times in the last year. Took two trips to the dealer for them to actually test the battery properly, and sure enough they got it to throw an error code. So they gave me an optima red-top as a warranty replacement, but I've had it not fire up again after that.

Look up TSB-10-13-002 regarding cold start problems in Evo X's. I asked the dealer, and the guy was lippy with me like "sir, we have a list of all of the TSB's released by manufacturer, and we'd know if your car is affected. Yet both trips to the dealer to date they haven't even so much as looked at the relays. My third trip here soon will be to a new dealer, and if they don't take care of it then I'll move the complaint higher up the food chain.

Good luck! I know it sucks leaving work late only to have your new car barely be able to start.

Had a cold start once only when it rained hard and flooded into my garage. I think the moisture was the cause. Stock X MR here too.

(...just realized you revived a dead thread =_=)
