This is true. I kept trading places with the Lotus he's eying last time I was out on the track. And my car was stock at the time. Evos like the track... they just need some more ooomph to bring their heft up to speed on the straights. And this guy's got $20k of additional ooomph.

Sounds like you dont have that much cash to spend, if you do, you'd keep all cars. Well, its your money, you should decide where you wana spend for, only thing you need to do is live with decision. Lotus is good car, but I would rather to buy Atom or KTM X-bow for the "raw racing car". Good luck!!

From: Tx,
since you got money to throw anyway, get a GTR and send it to AMS for a 900hp package.

Umm, don't you think he would have purchased a GTR the moment he actually had that kind of money? The OP financed a $30,000 Mitsubishi Evo for 4 years--pretty sure he couldn't buy an $90,000+ GTR (inflated pricing when they first came out).

This guy's mod money comes from a combination of credit cards or free spending any windfall, extra cash or tax return he receives.

If i bought the Lotus Exige...id more than likely leave it pretty stock...maybe do an exhaust, a rear diffuser, maybe some wheels and tires, a tune...not sure...
If i bought the Lotus Elise...id more than likely do a K20A swap, enjoy it for a while and then maybe SC or TC it later...also a possibility on the exige...
If i bought the Acura NSX...id more than likely do coilovers, wheels and tires, maybe some sick carbon/kevlar seats...exhaust, intake...comptech SC?
If i bought the S2000... full suspension, crazy wheel and tire setup, slam it, GT wing, aero...sick interior...

Im leaning towards an Exige...with a K20A eventually...being that the car is already 2000lbs, and i havent removed any weight...

HELP ME!!! IM LOSING MY MIND!

Should i just keep my damn X and stick it out till its paid off and then buy another toy? Wont be paid for like 4 years...
It doesn't seem like you're attracted by the actual act of driving, as any of the cars you've has were wonderful enthusiast machines. You mod them and when you're finished or hit a roadblock of sorts, it's time to mod something else. I mean, you're considering a mod path for cars that you don't even own. I think you need to consider what attracts you to cars and go from there. Good luck.

haha I'm going to blow your mind!!! I bought the evo X thinking that it would be the next level performance car as to my old integra RS... after a few weeks, I realized that I had made a big mistake and at the very least, I should have gotten the manual version. After driving a friend's S2k, I realize now that even with the GSR, I'd still crave that S2k drive it as if it were on a knife's edge type feel. Needless to say, I'm going to continue financing my MR as it's a good car that I like and am okay with, but there is definately no "Love" or dreaming about it. I still have dreams about my Integra RS though!

My MR will become my DD later on and S2k shall be my fun car!

I can't afford a gtr. And the gtr is not at all my style. I don't like cars that drive themselves and weigh like 3800 lbs. I don't make that much money. The car payment on the evo, combined with cost of living has me pretty tight. The mod money comes from selling the previous car or mode...combined with tax return and random money I get over time or from good months at work.

I don't have many tracks were I am...and mainly use my car for cruising...going to meets and aggressive driving on twisty roads and cruises in the mountains and ****. I DO plan to get to the track soon if I keep it.

The problem is...I am indecisive and dont really know what I want. I think I want flashy and exotic and raw...but if I bought the lotus...who is to say I won't miss the evo and its power and monster grip out of corners.

It sounds like you have no idea what you want. I wouldn't buy anything at this point, especially considering it comes across like you can't afford it. The Lotus is going to be quite a bit slower than your Evo. And a Lotus is one of those cars I wouldn't mod, which it seems you like to do. And it's also more expensive, and you say money is tight.

Not a good combo...

How about saving your money and enjoying what you have?

Then again, we need more people consuming like you in this country, to get the economy back on track. So, bravo, sir!

Seriously, though: You want lightweight? Buy a Miata. If you really enjoy _driving_, it doesn't get much better than that, street or track.

Unless you're 6' tall, in which case you better not. Maybe the most recent generation is better, but last I was in a Miata my eyes were just below the top of the window frame. I couldn't drive it with the top up, and with the top down my head was the roll bar
