I dont know why its unbelivable for some the RA is with mods are fast. WIth mods all car can be fast. Also the RA has a same platform engine as the Evo. So i dont see why would be slower with proper mods. Unless the Tranny holds it back.

Also for the video above. great moves guys, street race , calling out for race on street and show the owner face in the same video LOL.

the point of the video is just the show the RA ablities it can be a beast with proper mods is all im saying. you dont have to go evo if you cant afford it or your already in a RA they are working magic with the tranny everyday so soon the gap will be alot closer.

depends what you want. For highway pulls from gear to gear , the RA can be decent, because the engine in it. The evo and the RA gap a lot closer a little stretch . You cant compare hooked up car vs stock. You should do it with a same mods.
On the other hand, on highway many cars are decent, even a Jeep SRT 8.
Dont get me wrong the RA is an awesome car, and light year before its old versions.
But you cant really and honestly think you will make a better or equal performer out of them, with a same mod list compare to the evo. The equally hooked evo will always out perform the RA , only because the chassis and the whole drive train.
Granted the RA can be a weapon and im sure will be very soon.
Some more 4B11T will hunt in the racing world.

i hear what your saying but your missing my point. the RA for the money is a better deal for somebody that wants the preformace but cant afford that 30k+ monthly note. Spend that extra money on mods lol. The thread was leaning toward the way of making the RA feel like a worthless car when thats not the case they can be improved alot is all i Am pointing out. once you upgrade it to the RA in the video and do the clutch pack upgrade the evo is a distant memory now if your choosing either and have not pulled the trigger yet you can get 08 evos hella cheaper now

I switched from a GTS to my X. I thought about waiting for the RA's to come out and trading up for one of those but with Mitsu offering 0% financing and the sweet deal I got for the Evo it was a no-brainer.

I agree with both arguments in this thread but, while the RA can make descent power with mods, the bottom line is it will never be an Evo.

i got what you saying too. But my point is here. If you spend that much money on the RA, to make it just as fast as stock Evo X so make it same fast in straight.
Then i think you miss managed your money. And then yes you can afford the 30K car since you just spend it or maybe 2K less. Which is hair cutting in an argument where we talking about tuning + 25k plus cars.
Besides the stock evo will be still a better performer, not to mention more reliable, since its stock. /theoretically/

The RA is a great deal if you dont mod it or you just make a very light mods. Like an exhaust - intake - tune. Over that if you need that much performance , then you just miss-judge the difference between the two, value wise.

Sure that is my personal opinion. So i might be seeing this wrong, but so far for me doesn't have any evidence to see it otherwise. Later maybe will my opinion change , but i doubt. The video and this thread just made it more solid LOL

Guys my main switching point is the 5speed manual, sst is awesome, but boring. I agree that modding the RA can be worthwhile, but if I'm going to throw in money there, I should upgrade. Thanks for the input guys.

i understand wanting the feel of the manuel i would hate to own a auto sports car unless i already had one. The sst is not that bad for the person that wants to get into the scene but cant drive 5speeds good. although rob makes a good augument you can get a RA for 22k if you look and 08 evox for around 28k. so persay thats 6k you can throw around into the RA and make it a monster or you could as rob stated very very very light mods and call it a day. nothing major for sure. but i know the whole stock for stock augument im just saying if a lightly modded evo raced that RA in the vid its going to be extremely extremely tough

i agree , the modded RA should make the Evo X / stock/ run for the money , straight line . besides if the Evo X is manual with a bad driver , then its no contest LOL

we have one white RA in the town where i live. Looks cool. And a nice girl owns it

nice race there but at the end of the day i own a evo lol. getting a RA for a DD and using my evo for weekends or car shows or tracking would be a ok ideal for me. but i like driving the evo around town folks know what it is and they are excited. the only bad part is lots of people under the sun think they can take on a evo and dont know the extent of the modifications
