I had the occasional blue/dark smoke when I was stock. Never had white smoke.

If it happens WOT closer to startup, it could also be condensation evaporating rapidly that had been sitting in the exhaust. Go on a few spirited runs to let the car warm up and give the car a chance to have everything evaporate out of the exhaust if there's anything.. then have your buddy follow you again and see if white smoke still comes out. If it does, you can rule the easiest one out.. then move onto looking for coolant seeping by somewhere. Take it to the dealership.. it is under warranty.

As others have said, you really should get it looked at. Change the oil, and look at it. Check your fluid levels, and then check them again in a fwe days and see if they change.
can someone pls explain to me briefly how transfluid may cause smoke out the exhaust? thanks.

Just to keep updated i took to dealer the first time and they said it was ok. Took it again last week to another dealer and they reflashed for tsb recall cause mine is early 08 evo x. Haven't had problem since recall was done. And it was a light bluish smoke... Not the white my buddies had told me... Damn colorblind ppl lol. Thank for all the input guys. Next us tomei exhaust Perrin downpipe aem intake and blitz fmic agency pulley set and tune. Wondering what whp will b with that? Anyideas? I also want fast spool, fp green or red? Don't want to touch motor yet and far as studs. I was thinking green.

Green just for spool but the red's spool isn't bad at all.

And the green might leave you wanting more, just saying.

i thoought red too but to my understanding i would have to put in at least 750cc injectors and walbro fuel pump and possibly head gasket and bolts...is this true or would i be able to run the red just tuned down. and if tuned down would i lose all the benefit of the red. thats my issue with deciding...i do agree with u on wanting more if i get the green though. i guess i could get red and tune down and eventually get the rest. at least that way i wouldnt have to get a new turbo when i want more.
