Just bought a 2010 WW Evo X GSR/SSS
I personally had a good experience there as well. I also dealt with Sam when I went in to check them out. The whole process went fast and smooth. I was happy with the end result. Not everyone has the same experience though and there will always be people who like things a certain way or are dealt with the wrong way.
My buddy did not enjoy dealing with Sam when he went to check out Evos but I enjoyed it... He is a crazy Frenchman though lol.

same here, no issues whatsoever. in and out in 3 hrs. i could have been in and out in 1 hr
but sam had service install my nav on the spot so i wouldn't have to drive back in at a later time
to get it in. he gave me what i asked for in trade, and no haggle on the evo X price. completely satisfied here.

Maybe the manager's bad, I only dealt with Sam and the president of the auto group South Coast is owned by. That "South Coast Mitsubishi? Good or Bad" thread is from 5 years ago, and the other thread consists of 2 complaints... and one of them was you saying basically the same thing you said here. The online reviews sound like typical car dealership complaints, nothing out of the ordinary. One was mad when they didn't give him a bottle of water, and rather showed him the drinking fountain. Another was confused that they didn't go for a low-ball offer. These reviewers are clueless car buyers. I'm not surprised they had a bad experience.
Some people have had problems with them on here for sure, but considering the large number of people on this board that have bought there car there, it's not surprising. If they were "terrible", this board would be lit up. They're even a sponsor here.
I bought my car there. Process for purchasing and shipping across the country was smooth. They screwed up a credit I was eligible for. After the sale I unsurprisingly had trouble getting a call-back to fix it. The president had it resolved in 30 minutes, and I got a check a few days later. Overall, good experience.

The reviews that i linked, if you read all of them, said the same thing you just did about the wrong credit loan app being submitted and having to do over again. And where i think the water guy was rather **** but, when buying a 30+ grand car, I would expect a free bottle of water if i asked for one.....just me though i guess.

I never said that. They messed up my recent grad discount, not a loan. I did read all the sites you posted, and saw a grand total of maybe 5 complaints. Not exactly damning evidence for a dealership that probably sells more than 5 Evos a month through this site.

I totally hear ya, and i have heard good things about Sam. I know that i was looking into buying one there and shipping it to NC which is why i was looking into it. There is more reviews, just didn't link them all. But either way it is good for others to see the good and bad reviews.
Was over my STi as I had some stuff happen with the engine etc. Also there were 64k miles on it. I reached the celing with making power short of changing out the turbo etc.
I always liked evos and love the IX and the X. To make my power goal the evo was the only choice for keeping the car as stock as possible especially engine and turbo. I also won't worry about my engine constantly.
On top of all those points, I don't care for the new STi's past '07. Definitely my only decision and I'm very happy with my decision.
Hope to see some of you at MOD and at the meet the next day!

Any more info you have would be interested to hear.
Thinking off going from 05 STI to Evo X GSR with southcoast shipping.....
If you get a chance - I know that there are tons of compos about, but one more might push me over the edge!

Ok, so here is a bit more of a write up between switching to the Evo from an '06 STi.
So far the overall quality of the vehicle seems to be much better as far as interior and driveabilty goes, especially for daily driving. Steering wheel to the shifter is much more enjoyable to have my hands on while driving. Going from the VF39 to the twin scroll turbo in the Evo X is a dream. It spools much easier and the power band is very smooth and nice throughout the whole RPM range. It seems to dull down over 5.5k due to the stock tapering though (soon to not be the issue though).
The suspension is very nice as well but still corners better stock for stock. Gas mileage has gone up dramatically from the STi as well. Mine was not good from the start though, I believe there was something wrong with my STi from the start. I was only getting 14 mpgs almost anyway I drove. If I drove like a grandma and coasted to a stop... 15-16 mpg's MAX. If I beat the ever loving **** out of it... 13-14 mpg's.
With the SSS package, the HID's, sound system and keyless entry/start is VERY nice to have.
Its late and I cannot think of anything else at the moment, if you have any other questions you want me to compare on just let me know and I will do it.
