Project DP complete

I must say the X's DP/o2 combo from AMS is a pita but not so bad once you get done. I just finished with my Buddys X GSR SSS installing his AMS 3" DP with o2 eliminator kit. I loved the Design it was very well done and now we are waiting on his exhaust to come in. You can hear the turbo spool real nice. If anyone need help on the AMS Kit you can PM me.

Took me from start to finish about 8 hours. But we had lunch and had the car cool off first and a trip to the store to get a tool I needed which was a 1/2 swivel socket. The biggest hand up is the heat sheild/s on the bottom. There is one that had 3 10mm bolts that if you take off you can access the 12mm bolt that is needed to get off to access the final Nut. There are 5 bolts and one nut. The lower heat sheilds have to come off to access the final nut. The on reinstall there is a Black braket that also bolts to the DP that has to be losened which is a 14mm and then you can install the AMS Kit very smoothly. I used the following tools...

3/8 swivel Socket & Breaker Bar & Ratchet
1/2 Swivel Socket & Breaker Bar & Ratchet
3/8 Shallow and Deep Well sockets"12mm-14mm"
1/2 Shallow and Deep Well Sockets "12mm-14mm"
14mm Box Wrench & 14mm Ratcheing Box Wrench
12mm Box Wrench & Ratcheting Box Wrench

And the best helper PB BLASTER FTMFW.

Here is a Tip for the 12mm bolts on the heat sheild on the bottom use a 12mm Box for one and be ready to use some elbow grease. The second one which is hard to get to with out taking the other heat sheild that consists of 3 10mm bolts use a pipe or a short bar that can go on the back of a 3/8 Ratchet with a shallow 12mm socket and it will help alot more.

Don't stress to much, If you take your time and also use alot I mean alot of PB Blaster not WD40 there is a major differance between the two you will be fine. I will try to get the heat sheilds from my friend and take pictures so you can see what to take off and it will make life easier for you. Also MAP has a decent write up as well with some photos.

That stuff is easy to install on your own but I love working on cars. But a farfar as parts the intake will let the Turbo sound be more noticeable. But the ams o2/dp makes the power come smoother.

Are you going to have them tune it when your there? With the added airflow its really needed.

Most definetly!1 thing I learned coming from a civic is that the ECU is the main key for unlocking all the potential power of any car!
