Fluid Leak? Need help!

Hi guys,

A few times in the past weeks ive seen a small leak under the driver side engine area. I cant see where its coming from. I just added a cold air intake and turboback exhaust. Its a clearish fluid that doesnt have much of a smell. But its definitely not water ha. Any ideas?

Is there anyway that you can see or follow it to were it begins to drip?

I tried doing that, but I just couldn't see where it was. Only thing I could tell was that is was ending up under the driver side.

Double check all your fluids and make sure that theyre not too full or empty.

Driver's side with or without the undertray on? With it on, the leak could be pretty much anywhere.

Brake/clutch fluid, coolant, and windshield washer fluid (looks clear when it's not all pooled together) are pretty much the only things I could think of that have a chance of being clear. There's engine oil and transmission oil potentially in that area as well, but they wouldn't be clear.

But... a clear liquid with no smell... what makes you think it's not water?

Ya the undertray is on :/ I think its not water because there is a slight hint of something maybe and i wasnt driving through rain or a car wash or anything anytime before it happens? I guess it could be, but I dont know how.

Thanks for the help though I appreciate you guys.

Well, you'll also get water from the condenser under the car if you had the AC on at all.

The amount of water the condenser will drop under the car depends on the humidity level and how long it's been running. If it's been less humid, or you've taken shorter trips, you'd be less likely to see it.

It's probably still worth investigating further, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's all it was.

Brake fluid (and I think our clutches just use brake fluid), is highly corrosive. If it dropped on your garage floor and sat there awhile, you'd know it.

Well whatever it was has dried up and you cant even tell there was anything sitting there. That was another one of my thoughts was that this stuff dried up quickly and left nothing behind.
