They have a pretty good reputaion so far with Evos. I like ETS better though

In my opinion, I would rather spend my money on companies like AMS and Buschur,ect . Yes they are pricey but its true that the R & D and craftsmanship is very important and expensive. Especially in a very competetive market like in the Evo Scene.
I would not buy HKS, not due to the quality but I would rather spend my money on American Engineers and Welders and fabricators, and support the companies that put Americans to work and show the quility of American products in the import scene.

 

Hks makes good stuff. I've got the buschur tbe and it was like a glove 1 size to small, almost right but not quite, I had an hks exhaust on the Subaru and it fit like a team of Japanese artists came to my house and made the part custom like.

 

I paid $660 shipped for their Hi-Power exhaust. I thought that was kind of cheap.

 

I always found their exhausts would rust much faster than other brands. They do make some good stuff but IMO they are the lesser of the major JDM manufacturers.

 

with HKS you pay for brand name included..other companies such as ETS have GREAT! products, especially price/quality, but they are not as big in terms of brand recognition, history and size..

 

You just have to be selective when buying HKS products. All of their products are top notch quality, but not always priced competitively (especially turbo kits).

 

Remember when you have Japanese based companies, they will have to ship them to us. Transit cost is also what you're paying for besides the brand name.

 

you gotta also pay for their huge overhead too..

 

Wow........you do know that Mitsubishi is made in Japan and not in the good ol US of A.

HKS makes great aftermarket parts and will continue to purchase their items.

Not just comparing auto parts. But everything in general. Clothes designer or not, electronics, cosmetics, food(sushi sashimi), beer(sapporo) I like the taste of BUD. A roll of toilet paper.
