Help with Mits. part #

The factory navigation has a silver trim piece above it that blocks sunlight. Does anyone know the part #? Maybe I can PM Russel from mitsubishiparts.net. Anyways I put in this non-OEM Double DIN navigation (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/la...ment-pics.html) last winter and can hardly see anything in the daylight. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

I guess if anyone can look to see how it's mounted, I might have to make a custom visor for it.

The surround piece comes in the ~$400 install kit. If you do go that direction, you'll need to make a piece to go from the head unit to the sides of the surround piece as it's wider than DIN standards.

I'm not going to spend another 400 when I can't separate the unit from the plastic trim. It's glued in, display is 8 inched diagonally, will make a custom visor when I can find the right color plastic.

Question oem nav system warranty

Hi ... I'm new here and hope I'm not hijacking anyone's thread but I found this Mitsubishi OEM nav unit for 1200$ (nav system and install kit) brand new in the box and was wondering what happens if the unit out of the box is defective or what if it stops working for whatever reason 3 months from now. Will it be under Mitsubishi's warranty if I have no invoice for it... I'm gonna have the dealer install it obviously just so I can have some kind of paperwork for the install.

Do you guys think it's a good idea to buy it ... Otherwise I would have to buy it from a dealer for 2124$ (nav and install kit).

Any of you guys already have this system ... is it worth the price?

I currently have a clarion NX700 in the car installed and lets just say im not impressed with the whole thing ... plus I cant stand the gap between my dashboard and the scosche dash ... it just doesn't feel right ... doesn't look clean enough..

What do you guys think??

Thanks

you'd have to call the dealer and ask

I would think without an invoice to confirm a purchase date that you are beat on any type of warranty
