squeaking noise

I recently bought the evo mr, 500 miles in now. Everytime I drive through small bumps I hear consistent squeaking / screeching noise inside the stereo or springs I'm guessing. Mainly coming from the back right side of the car. Has anyone had this problem before?

Mine rattles from the rear deck -- under the deck are some items that 'spring' the lid, they make noise. Can you describe the speeds, conditions and nature of "screeting"? That doesn't quite sound like the 'rattle trap' I'm hearing in mine.

No, mines def not a rattle sound, it's either coming from the springs or stereo system. I hear it under bumpy conditions( not sure if it's from the stereo or springs ) and also when my speakers are high. I don't think is has anything to due with weather because the squeaking like noise is consistent wether it's cold or hot.

mines def not a rattle like noise, it's coming from the speakers or springs. Mainly from the back right side. It happens whenever I'm under mild bumpy conditions and also I notice the sound whenever I go on the freeway just cruising with my speakers up high. I'm again, guessing it has something to do with how they manangad to wire everything up with the suspension.

I get a lot of squeaking noise from mine, but it is mostly from the plastics in the car.
I have 700 miles on mine.

Where exactly are you hearing it from?

same problem here. it sounds like a piece of broken part rattling inside rear passenger speaker case or from the suspension. but i've noticed it sounds worse when stereo is playing songs with heavy base. OP: do you have aftermarket suspension?

i have the exact same problem. it's so frustrating to distinguish whether it's a speaker problem which i can take it to the dealer or suspension problem which i have to take it to my coilover installer.

I hear it from the left front driver side door panel. Also mostly during acceleration and not during idling.
Very annoyed with it, but at the same time I was expecting this from these cars.
My friend had a new STI a few years back and it was squeaking new.

I am planning on a track day soon. Wonder how bad the squeaking will get once the car is pushed.

Mine squeeks around the rear deck. Its drives me nuts, especially since I've put in a new sub.

it is so frustrating to pinpoint the source of the squeak. i already removed everything in my trunk and still hearing it. you notice too when i change music channel from something with heavy base to something mellow, the squeak stops, but then it starts again after a while.

You might have the glovebox rattle, sometimes car interior noise sounds like it's coming from somewhere other than it really is. here is the fix. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ox-rattle.html
