Looking at an EVO with cosmetic damage, how much to fix?

Hey guys, my search for an evo continues. I found someone with an Evo X that has some light cosmetic damage, hes willing to cut me a deal on it but I'm just wondering how hard would this be to fix? I am somewhat mechanically inclined but is this something that would need to be done at a body shop?
It looks like this section of the body goes all the way up to the roof.. costly to replace?
Thanks!

Costly to repair, but free if you can 'live' with it. If you can't, you almost always better off finding a better Evo.

If you fix it, the paint is going to be tough to colour match.

I'd be nervous, obviously this guy pushed to hard somewhere, there's no telling the condition of the car.

Thanks, can you list what process to fix gave you that estimate?

I really think this car would be a deal but I will need to fix it the right way. Can you give me an idea exactly what parts would need to be replaced? The damage on that fender section is kinda bent up, it looks like that entire section will need to be replaced. Plus the door maybe.

What? Someone backed into him in a parking lot.

If that's the case....

Are you sure though?

I don't think the cosmetic repairs would cost to much....I agree with $700-1200

Also,

Is it missing a wheel well liner on the front pass side? It looks like it from the pic.

I got an $1800 estimate for repairs on my car. My back passenger side door was dented and it wont open, which is much worse than that damage. $700-1200 sounds right.

Can someone with experience doing body work offer some insight? Is that section behind the door easily replaced? It looks like an expensive part since its basically part of the unibody. Or is it simply a panel covering the unibody?

Agreed, I'd pass, we well. Seeing the thing dropped to the ground points to a clueless owner. The body damage is the icing on the cake.

I would be concerned about possible damage that may not be visible. The body work could be the least of the issues.

The car is basically stock besides the springs. And its not even that low. And I'm not sure what lowering springs have to do with body damage.

I can tell the car wasn't hit hard, its obviously a glancing shot that just wrinkled the bodywork a little and scratched the paint.

It also scuffed the wheels a little. I'm thinking it will be at least $300 to paint the wheels since they are a custom paint color, and if a shop was able to repair the damage I think this could be under $1000. But if they have to REPLACE those body panels, I have no idea how you guys are thinking 700-1200, I would expect $2000-$4000 depending on if they buy new panels or find a salvage car somewhere.

Why can't the seller just get it fixed through his insurance before you buy it?
