Need some encouragement guys...
I have just a few bolt ons... nothing major and I have to say that this car is seriously starting to become a major stress point for me. It started running a little rough, which I got pretty well sorted out, now with the AGP intake on the car the idle is quite rough. I'm in the process of having it tuned and pretty quickly and easily the car got to 342 whp 335 wtq. Then my tuner says that things are looking like I may have a boost leak. I JUST went over the entire engine area and checked all vac lines, tightened all IC pipes, anything that could be checked... I checked it. I mean seriously not even a month has passed and already there's a leak?
I'm in Md and have not read of any shops around here who got to great of a review. I need to have a boost leak test done, and I need ALL areas to be clamped with the best clamps possible. This is going to cost yet more money that I don't have... not to mention I don't trust pretty much any shop. CBRD is quite a haul from here to just go and have a leak test done.. I am just in general sick of this damn car right now. I'm ready (again) to get rid of it, but this time not for money... I just simply get tired of being under the hood of it.

Don't sell the car man on account of a boost leak. There are far worse reasons. Sometimes the smallest details can cause the most problems. Did you check the clamps on the upper and lower piping that connect to the intercooler? I know its a stupid question to ask, but those can easily be overlooked.

there's one spot u probably didn't check on the moter pull off the plastic cover there is a small black hoses that probably poped off it happened to me from Mitsubishi they never put a clamp on it and when there is to much boost it pops off and its a loss of power and the idel is crap its somewhere on the forums they show pics for it ill find it and post it
How good of a tuner is he? Why did he say you "may" have a boost leak? Those numbers look pretty good for a boost leak. Does it idle rough? Is there an audible leaking noise under boost?
Maybe he was just suprised how much the stock turbo tapers as it approaches redline and thought there was a boost leak?

Oh Gawd, please tell me that the tuner is not that dumb. It does seem a bit far fetched though. As for the guy that mentioned the hose under the cover, it would have been easily noticeable if that hose popped out. Idle fluctuating and rough, I dont believe that is what is happening here.

And for a boost leak test... i would just go to any normal MD shops. Thats a pretty basic test, its not tuning your whole car or something.

not sure how much of a haul CBRD is for you, I'm around Bmore, so its not too bad....but I'd say talk to Chad about your situation, see what he might be able to do for you, its worth at least asking him about what you got going on, if anything he'll give you some great advice
Agile auto is a nice place, i would recomend you take your car there. Hill is a hell of a guy and will take care of you. http://www.agileauto.com/

My car happens to respond very well to higher boost... I don't know why, but it doesn't get knock or anything of the sort and still produces power at 28 and even hitting 30 psi with 0 knock... of course i'm not running 30 psi, but I have had it spike there in the past.
We had done a few pulls, he made some adjustments and he had not even upped the timing or fuel to near where he could go... 360-370 is likely without boost leaks, even with the few power mods that are on my car.... not bragging, just saying that's what I was told.
So another map is made to up it slightly, but now where the boost was making power, it's working harder to make just the same power levels, and sometimes even less power, which from the hundreds of cars he has tuned said he knows that it's a boost leak somewhere. I have the junk worm clamps on a lot of the areas of the car... I just never got the t-clamps because nothing ever blew off, I guess that doesn't mean stuff isn't moving though huh? I am going to buy some kind of top notch clamps and put them EVERYWHERE on this thing and then go and have a boost leak test done since the last time I almost blew my own head off (oops).
