Just finished haggling for a new X:)

Well, today I was at the dealer for three hours talking over a used 2010 MR Touring. We were finally able to agree on something. But I want to ask a question here that seems awful weird to me. I told them I wanted a wing added on the back, and long story short, they told me for the standard tall MR wing it cost them $3000 to put on, but for the shorter GSR wing it would be $500. Is there any fact to this, or was this guy trying to pull something over on me? Discuss.

tell him no deal for the wing. that's just ridiculous to pay 3000 for the big wing. lots of members here would get rid of theirs so just find someone who went wingless

lol, way to capitalize. It should not cost 3000. More like 10% of 3000.

Look at it this way...tell him forget the wing and take off 3000 off the asking price. And if he seems to be annoyed, ask him how much does the factory rims and tires cost!

seriously though, just ask him how the wing itself can cost 3000 when the sss package for the gsr costs only 2000 and you get the additional hids, rf system, and fast key. i also heard elsewhere that because the gsr's now come stock with the big wing for 2011, they dropped the sss package price since there's no spoiler. i think i heard they only dropped it by 300 bucks so tell him that's what you think you should pay for it. damn stealership

Well, I called his bluff and told him to install the gsr wing for no charge and he did. I think he was trying to get me to pay an extra $2K and telling me he would "eat" $1000 of the cost. I figured I'll at least have the mounting points now if I pick up a tall wing later from somewhere cheap.

But the mounting points for the tall wing are different than the gsr small wing! oh wells, as long as you got a good deal on the car!

have you signed the papers yet? I am willin to bet, since he already tried to scam you, that he said he would do the wing for free.....betting if you look at the invoice and papers you probably still got charged the 3k. if your car is GG, and dont have the wing, i'll trade you for trunk lids. I have the big one, wanting to go wingless withoug the holes.
