why my ASC warning light come off?

doing about 60 mph on highway on 5th gear, floor my gas paddle and I see ASC warning light pops out with yellow slippery road says need service soon.. lol guess u guys understand what I'm talking about. It happen everytime when I'm in top gear and sink my gas paddle. Would it be a boost cut off warning sign? btw turn off ignition key and everything back to normal. can somebody help...

Have you made any changes to your set up, after your tune with Ivey?

This recently happened to me as well. I was in 6th cruising on the hwy @ roughly 65mph and decided to drop a gear (SST...so without lifting my foot off the gas) and threw the lovely p0171. Mine happened because I had swapped my leaky piece of sheit stock BPV (which I was tuned with) for an APS Twin Vent BOV (which holds boost like a charm) and now she holds boost like it should...a little too well. I've learned to just drop the gear and let my foot off the gas before getting back on it.

you shouldn't be going WOT in 5th in low speeds anyway. you're knocking. downshift and problem solved.

What's considered low speeds? I've been told to never WOT in 5th unless you're above 4k, and I've been told you can WOT as low as 3k. Sorry for the newb question.

I was told the same with my stock and tune WRXs and MS3, but never really paid much attention to it, and had no problems.

I just want to verify if it an automatic boost cutoff warning sign that' all, and never change any set up since got tuned.

if your boost exceeds 30 psi at any time you get that light from my understanding

air is denser in the cold so you are making more power and your boost is spiking higher than usual...in fifth gear at low rpm you are increasing the load on the engine therefore making it more likely to spike harder

my slippery road yellow symbol was flashing the other day too, except it didn't say service soon or anything, it was just the symbol. i did take a 90 degree turn pretty sharply/quickly though and then it came on for a few seconds, and thought it was because of that. my '10 MR only has a catback exhaust and isn't even tuned so theres no way i could get over 30psi

That's actually the ASC kicking in when it flashes.

my thing is theres no reasons to go WOT in 5th unless you redline'd 4th.

thats exactly what i thought (i was going to read the manual anyways) , so it didn't worry me at all. i knew i took the corner pretty damn quickly and then tried to give it a healthy amount of gas immediately afterwards (which is when i noticed it turned on)
