Keep it, mod it, and see how you feel after. Both evos and sti's arent exactly godly from stock form. The new sti is a great car.

I'm asking the dealer how much I can get for it and they haven't respond yet. The evo x are currently 30,999 right now so if I can get at least that much I'll be good but I highly doubt I'll get that much.

I just might keep it and mod it lightly, I'm not big on power. Stg 2 is fine for me.

No matter how I look at it the evo x looks wider and lower in stock form...anyone else see this also?

Where is a brand new X going for under 31K??? The cheapest I've seen is $33.5K (after the 4K reduction to make room for the 2011's)
I just switched over from the subie community, and know what you mean. Subies are very raw feeling, Mitsu feels like a high performance machine. Depends on what feel you like, cuz ultimately unless you are hardcore tracking the car, they can both be modded and perform basically the same.

Shot for that price sell it privately. 2010 STI's are going for a couple grand more, thats a bargain for a B/O 2011!!

I'm amazed you don't like the new STi.
I would buy one if it had automatic option like the evo.

If you can deal with the financial hit, then go for it. No point in keeping it if you dont want it. Plus, it's brand new, trade it for a really good condition X. Good luck man!

Ouch... you're going to take a financial hit for sure! If you do it, it'll be an instant thousands lost. If you don't do it, you'll have the itch. Best word of advice is to drive it some more, and then trade it in later down the road for a used evo. That way you'll lose much less and will be able to make a better decision.

What makes you think you will love the X? I've never driven an 8 or 9 but the X is considered soft in comparison. Just keep the STI.

I'm a HARDCORE Subaru guy, having had a couple modded WRX and always wanted the STI, BUT at the same time, I've always loved how the Evo 8/9s felt, with the quick sharp precise steering, and handling (and yes those Recaro seats).

Aftr landing a nice paying gig a year ago, and saving some money, I was in line to get a 2011 STI after reading all about the 2011 upgrades and enhancements BUT owed it to myself to at least test drive a Evo 10 first. At the time the 2011 wasn't quite out yet, and I ended up test driving a 2010 STI back to back with the Evo 10. Wasn't even close. Driving the STI, I felt that no sway bars, coilovers, or bushings can make up for what the Evo provides in handling and driver involvement.

Let's face it, neither one of these cars are great financial investments, but that's not what you're getting them from. The money aspect is up to you and what you think you can or are willing to afford.

well i had both and i have a X. The X GSR is not softer rides like a older MR's. It s marginally softer then a RS .
The Subaru known for a softer ride from the begin with vs the EVo's wont matter which modell.
That is why and the low TQ considered as a better daily driver.

I have yet to drive the '11 STI so not sure how it compares to 8,9,X Evo's, but after I test drove an X GSR I think the only thing that kept me from trading my 8 in for it was realizing that for the X to keep up with my 8 in terms of speed & feel, it'd take a ton of money right off the bat to get it there! I wouldn't be as happy driving an X in stock form as I was in an 8.. I had/have a clear-cut expectation of power/handling/braking/control/feel & the X didn't live up to it. With modding it would, but not at a price I could bear. It's the best thing you can do for yourself where you're at right now - figure out exactly what you desire in a car. The X might be your answer, or maybe you're already on the way there in your STI? Don't rush to make a decision. There's many thousands of $$ at stake...
