how should i prevent rust from canadian winters
Although messy, any of the oil based rust prevention will help slow down the rust process.I've had good results with Rust Check.
A few years ago I bought and restored a 1962 land Rover that had been used all year round since new.The frame/chassis was pretty rusty, except for the front section/cross members. When I cleaned all the mud/oil/grease off that section I was surprised to find black shiny paint with factory paint markings on it.The only reason I can see that it never rusted in that area is because the engine/transmission oil leaks had coated it slowing the rust down.

my friend do allt the time with his Frontier. He lift the truck up and spray the whole bottom of the car with WD40. Sounded really stupid for me, but he has a truck over 5 years, and he do fishing nort carolina at the OBX. he actually park some times to close to the water the tires are in the water
Also in the winter he gets the nice NY weather too. But his truck looks like new. So after 5 years i have to admint it works.
