You don't need to get it tuned, your car will be fine without it. It will get the best gains from tuning it, though.

YES it will lean it out a little...and you SHOULD get it tuned. And look at it this way, your evo needs a tune anyways and you will be a lot happier w/ the car after you do. Trust me.

Lmmfaoooo...! Bro seriously, GET A TUNE. When you upgrade your intake, your afr gets some what thrown off. Read up on all the threads on here and you'll see a high percentage of people whom know what they're talking about will say the following, "it is safe to be sorry/ get a tune." Not only will your ride perform better, but you'll avoid alot of future consequences.

I would not bother getting a tune. Most of the companies that make intakes say you dont require a reflash or anything of the sort if that is the only mod you have. As well if Mitsu finds out that your ECU has been flashed or re-mapped I can guarantee they will try and NOT honor your power train warranty.

There is no danger in leaning the car out to the point of engine damage with JUST and intake.

Don't X's out of the factory already run pretty rich? Maybe its the other way around, but if they do, leaning it out might help a bit.

The X's tune is conservative out of the box anyway, so even without any mods you'll see an improvement from getting a tune.

Well they would probably void the warranty if they see the intake itself. Anyways, to answer the question, the intake by itself does not require a tune, however you might have AFR problems as well as codes...also as someone else mentionned, your gains will multiply when you combine mods with tune. It really depends how easy or hard it is for you to get a tune.

Hope this helps!

wat other mods you plan on doing? theres no point in gettin a tune after every single mod, so unless your not gona do more mods or at least in the near future you shouldnt waste your money on a tune just yet.

Question Ima noob help

I'm in kinda the same boat... I got a greddy intake first then a hks hi power cat back, then a access port v3. I just installed a stm aluminum test pipe and I'm trying to figure out if it's going to be safe to run a off the shelf map from Cobb or if I need a pro tune asap.
