Convince me, why should I get a X?
Convince me, why should I get a X?
Hey guys! So recently i saw mitsu had a deal going for 0% APR on all left over 2010 models which imo was a pretty sick deal so i stopped into a local mitsu dealer and I have been approved for the 0% APR for 60 months. I currently own a 2003 evo8 and was gonna trade it to the dealer if i do decide to get it tomorrow. Seeing that most people who own X's read this section I wanna know, should I get rid of my 8 and move up to a 10 and why should I. Im like 50/50 and don't know what to do. Let me get some opinions
na the 8 has like 4k left on it, and they said they would pay the 8 off and i would get the GSR for like 23000 financed out the door. the sticker on the X was like 34k and change. Aero kit and the highrise wing
If you're wanting something else, then I would say buy it. The X is a really fun car, and building another car is a (good and bad) journey among itself. I'm sure your current Evo with mods on it make it a very fun car to drive. So just plan on immediately wanting to mod the X for more power. Honestly, either way youre in a really great position to be in. Pay off your current Evo and no car payment, or get another great car from the Evolution model lineup.
Also make sure it has the SSS package and not just the highrise wing. I noticed a lot of dealerships are starting to catch on and just add the larger wing as an option and make it seem like the SSS package. The best part about the SSS package is the HID headlights.

common sense says to keep the 8 because its almost paid off...
Why go 23k more in the hole if you dont HAVE to? Judging by your mods, your not some street racer or some serious drag racer...
But depending on your personal and financial situation, you have to make the call.
The X's are sick and its a strong consideration, have you felt the joy of not having a car payment?
I would keep the 8 and either enjoy it paid off or take it to the next level and add a 2.3 stroker to it and make it a new car again!

The problem is the evo x isnt the fastest evo out there, however....they do have that sexy hot nissan front end and a beautifully redone interior. With that being said, if you want to go fast keep your evo 8. If you want to have a nice car and sacrifice some speed, get the evo x.

evo 8 350 hp vs 310hp x- beat the 8 by 3 lengths
evo 9 400hp vs 310 hp x- i got beat by 1 length.
Evo X are around 3,600 lbs or the Evo X MR 3,800+ lbs (transmission weight Plus plastic crap and heavy bbs wheels
)Evo 8's or 9's are around 3,200 lbs
So do the math-
awhp+3,200lbs=Evo 8
awhp+3,600lbs=Evo X
I m not talking stock cause who drives a stock Evo 8 or 9 anymore?
The average evo 8 or 9 is around 300 hp(modded) correct me if I m wrong, and the average Evo X is around 291 hp (which is stock) So based on the numbers I ve seen and seen plenty of evo x owners(some $$$ big mods) get smoked at drag strips by 8's and 9's with basic bolt ons...which is faster? I ll let you figure out....
heres a hint:
Evo 8-9 Quarter mile world record-Low 9's (I last checked 2 months ago)
Evo X MR Quarter mile world record-High 9's (about 9.56 I believe)
Lots of wrong there. The weight difference is only 250 pounds between a non-sunroof IX and a base X GSR. The BBS wheels in the MR are lighter than the Enkei on the GSR.
I would skip on picking up another car payment, but that's just me. The last car I paid off I decided that I would never take on another, instead I would put the money into the markets and pay myself.
If you need a new car though, sounds like a good deal.
