If it's paid off I would keep it, unless the test drive really changes your mind. As for a drag racing perspective, the 8 and 9's have more potential. They are lighter and you can push their stock turbos harder than the X's. I made 414whp on my IX with basic bolt ons, stock cams and E85. I highly doubt you'll see that on a stock turbo X. But the X's handle better and they are much more daily driver friendlier.

No trolling btw, trying to bring reality into this thread. I mean look what this X owner posted while typing out of his ***.

I mean that all makes perfect sense right? Screw the math. El Oh El.
so by your brilliant, not "idgit" logic, you're trying to bring reality into the thread by bench-racing and arguing with Snake bite on what happened in actual reality?

and on your let's compare a near stock X with a much more modded 8 retardedness:
read where I said going by the 315/322 #s. Where did your passion for equal comparison suddenly go?

Nice job constantly trying to edit your posts btw

Stop the ridiculousness before this thread gets locked up

You're not very smart. I was simply using Snakebites post to show how delusional a lot of X owners are. I swear you guys have "short man syndrome" because of the shortcomings of the X.

Someone in this thread said and I quote " a X with just TBE, CAI and tune will make as much whp as the OP's 8." Do joo get why I'm not making a fair comparison nao? I'm glad you agree the 8 with said mods will make moar powwa and you're going back on your original statement that I have in quotes.

Editing since Chang said that's what I do. El Oh El.

haha absolutely love how you're making judgments of intelligence while knowing absolutely nothing about me.

hm I wonder who said that? All I said was

then I clarified level of power = his listed 315/322, unless you wanna e-bench-dyno his current mods for me O all knowing one.

I'm bored...so going out to eat/drink w/friends then meet some cute ladies. Dunno how I can afford to do that every day of the week if I'm so dumb

wow...such a touchy subject.

But it all depends what you are looking for. I had a 2005 VIII with a similar set of mods. My X is currently stock except for a catback. There is no denying that the VIII was faster. It also sounded awesome with the cams and didn't fall on its face at higher RPMs.

That being said, the X is in my opinion a better all around car.

I don't drag my car, I take it to an occasional track day. I thought I was invincible with my VIII around a road course, until I drove the X. With more weight and less power, I felt as though I was able to drive the X better and faster.

But again, it all goes back to what you are looking for. All around, the X is more comfortable, handles better, and is new.

Then again, I got better gas mileage in my VIII, and I loved the power I was making. But if power is what you want, you'll be able to make it with the X, you may just need to get there a different way.

It if were me...since it was at one point, I'd get the X. But then again, I'm half looking for an VIII or IX for a DD. Most people probably think I'm crazy, but my plan is to keep the X for the track.

People shouldn't need to Convince you.

Test drive one for yourself, the car speaks for itself

Lmmfaoooooo! I just read through this whole thread and 80% of it's B.S... Smh... The Xs make power, and there are a crap load out there with power, 60ft traps, and 1/4mi numbers(info for the einstein whom said that there are no Xs out there with power... smh...) I see a lot of e-thug'n, and probably that's all they're capable of... Smh... Brolic typing fingers, loose mouth= NO HEART WHEN LIVE...! Smh...

OP, keep your ride, as for you're almost done paying it off. If you're going to get rid of it, sell it privately, as for you will get more money out of it. VIII, IX, and Xs are all great Evos, and all have there pros and cons. I.E, interior, wheel base, exterior, suspension, ect... I had a IX loved it, but had a few issues with it a few days after taking it out of the dealer. They cut me a crazy deal for a RR 08 GSR X, I took it and ran with it. I love it, still have it, gave it a heart transplant and oh, it's making power guaranteed. Test drive and feel out the X. You said you've been approved, which mean you'll have no issues getting a loan. Pay off your VIII, sell it privately, and then use that money to place it towards your car payment on the X(that's if you wish to sell your ride if not I'd say keep it).

Man I wrote a story... Lmao Well I'm bored, and my flight doesn't leave until another 8hrs. Good luck with your decision bro, and remember it is you that has to live with that decision, not us...! With that being said, YOU, convince yourself...!

I don't think you should ask us to convince you into buying an X. We obviously love our X but you are comparing your 8 to a 10 so if you go with either one, you still have an Evo! Go test drive one, see what it can do, keep in mind that there is always room and ease to make much more power...I am sure you will enjoy sitting in a new car more than in your 8

best of luck

Some of the **** said in this thread is redic
Test drive the X if you like it buy it if your worried about if your IX is faster then put the money into the X to make it faster. Its not rocket science.
Any car can be fast it just depends on how much money is sunk into it.

My opinion from my own experience... IX>X>VIII for power. X>IX>VIII for daily livability/

My VIII, IX and X all ran the same-ish 1/4 with varying amounts of mods. The IX made the most power for the least money. The X is a better daily driver and is competitive in autox and road-racing.

VIII; tbe w/no cat, full I/C pipes, intake, cams, greddy ebc, 10.5 hotside, fmic and tune = 320whp (dynojet) = 12.4 at 109ish (act clutch).
IX; tbe w/no cat, mbe, stock intake, tune = 314whp (Mustang); 12.4 at 110ish (stock clutch).
X; tbe w/cat, ic pipes, fmic, stock intake and bcs, 330whp; 12.5 at 109.5mph (stock clutch)

So the Evo was $34k, you owe $4k and $23k financed out the door?
How much are they giving you for the car? How much are taxes and other fees? Does it make sense to trade the car or sell outright?
