What a coincidence...
What a coincidence...
This always happens, everytime I undergo the first project to any car I'm modding. This weekend a buddy and I installed my ETS Goodies, minus the IC (due to awesome, careful handlers of FedEx, I received it with a nice big gash in the front of it
, will make that swap next weekend though), and then detailed the car shortly after. While I was shining the tires, I noticed a bubble in the sidewall of the driver's side front tire.. nothing drastic, just a small bubble no where close to the tread.
Fast forward a couple hours, I'm beginning my long trek home (3 hour drive) and just really enjoying the new sounds and performance of my ETS Goods. I decided to google that bubble and find some info on what I needed to do about it, and as soon as I did, like literally, as soon. I hear a ticking like noise start to come from that tire, kind of slow, but pretty loud. Kept going, it got louder and louder and louder.. So I pulled off the road and looked at it, the tire looked fine, sidewall felt strong and in-tact. So I limped it down the road to the next gas station, checked the tire pressure, was running 22psi on all 4, I bumped them all up to 32 (hopefully not a mistake), and got back on the interstate, this time the noise started out fast and loud, but as I gained speed, it stopped, then it just stopped completely. I called my buddy and we think its the splash shield flapping on the driver's side where we may have left out a plastic clip or two.
This morning I sware I heard a noise sounded like metal on metal, really it sounded like when you hear running water from a shower like in the apartment or floor above you.
I ****ing love modding, but I ****ing hate the paranoid noises that come with it. Should I just go ahead and order the wheels and tires I've been looking at? haha.
On a happier note, loving the ninja'ed out engine bay:

This "bubble" is an impact bulge, caused by nailing potholes or uneven pavement... there's nothing you can do about it aside from replacing the whole tire. It's not a serious issue, you can drive on it for the time being, but i would replace it A.S.A.P. because depending on the severity of the bulge, your tire could fail...
oh and 32 is the correct psi for a gsr on stocks, so ur good
