Roll cage for Evo X ?

Has any of you installed a pre-made roll cage for an Evo X ?
Where would I find a bolt in or 'U-weld' type set up for this car?
I don't have access to a good fabricator locally but I'm handy enough for a
pre-made(bent) type set up.

This is the only company I've come up with so far but no response if they offer for this car.

http://www.autopowerindustries.com/

Help would be appreciated. Car will be used for Rally X, Hill Climb, light track, and eventually Stage Rally.

Thanks!

id say go for the autopower kit and have it welded into the car. Nice fit and finish since it is designed for our cars. I have a 4 point (only bolted in...for the time being..) and have no complaints. good price and good quality.

if you eventually get very serious I would suggest sending your car to a fabricator and having a custom one built, but this is surely something you have already considered. best of luck with the search!

auto power is a good option for those who dont do serious racing. When you need something serious and pre made here is the place you need to buy:

Thanks, Great info, and of course Custom Cages UK looks like the place to get serious when the time comes.

Does anyone have a photo or two to share on the AutoPower installed? I"m wanting to know if there is still room to retain the rear seats? I still have to use the car as a daily driver
Thanks

Question is how much your life is worth?

For drag and circuit racing the ap is goodm there is crash zone's run off's etc.
But for rally and other things like door to door racing...
Besides they price is not too crazy.

No offense but putting a roll cage in a daily driver is not a good choice. First, you are going to jeopardize your rear passengers safety. There will be large exposed bars that can be hit in the event of an accident. Secondly, unless you are wearing a helmet daily, a roll cage is dangerous to anyone in the car. It doesn't take much force to cause internal bleeding when hitting your head against a hard object. Third, the safety devices such as side impact air bags are not designed to work with a roll cage in the way. Fourth, safety harnesses are recommended for use with roll cage to prevent driver/passenger roll cage contact. This can be a PITA for a daily driver and a large portion of proper harnesses are not legal for use on highways. For a daily driver the risks out weigh the benefits.

I am an emergency room nurse and have seen the effects of a motor vehicle collision where a roll cage was installed. The patient is now in a permanent vegetative state.

Krisiun,
Thanks this is all very good advice and certainly of consideration. I will say though, about 95% or more of the time I am the only person in the car. I drive over the speed limit every day, I have window tint on the front side windows, and I talk on my phone with out bluetooth often because of the damn wind noise (all of which are not legal in BC)
I'm really not poking fun but stating that I am aware of 'legal' implications of what I'm interested in doing. I've been driving a previous stage rally car for 2 years off and on as a daily. In fact ALL stage cars are required to be street legal in order to transit from stage to stage. All have 5/6 point harnesses. True roll bars are dangerous. properly worn belts and use of FIA padding reduces risk exponentially.
Also another reason why I was asking for some pictures to observe where the bars are bent and located in relation to elbows/heads.
I'm short and the Recaro seats in these cars have me sitting quite low in the cabin so I'm to super concerned about head clearance on a bar, and i have padding to put in.
Yes it's daily driver but with skid plates and gravel suspension/tires I often drive it in a way that a roll cage would be more beneficial to have, than not.

Thanks

do yourself a favor and do it right...
http://jalopnik.com/5390934/mustang-...over-tire-wall

if you look at the bottom of the car you can see where the roll cage poked throught the floor board of the car. It really needs to be welded in or its just a showcase item to give the appearance of a race car. Function > Form

Here are the pictures of my roll bar installed and the back seat is still in just for the looks, I took seat belts out and will never let anyone sit back there cause its unsafe. Like the picture above I went back and forth on weather or not to install this piece over a harness bar and choose this one thinking it would provide a bit more safty then just a harness bar. If I get more into tracking it i will probably do a weld in, but at this point I can still take this one out without dealer knowing to much if I trade in.
