We have to redo the oil change and you could have saved yourself the 30 bucks at goofy lube and time. Also they offered me $2 off for me bringing my own oil and a $1.50 off for the filter. HaHa I was on the road and needed a quick change, but it is a bad idea.
I would also be afraid of a crossthreaded drain bolt.

Then again, I've heard of dealerships forgetting to tighten stuff or forgetting the filter or oil altogether.

I'm a big fan of watching. I take my Ralliart to a Midas that used to be a Mitsu service shop after the dealership closed. The guys let me watch them do all the work and I make sure they do it correctly. I even make them use a TQ wrench instead of a impact gun. It just messes up the lugs and they "don't mind"

on the topic though, two of my buddys who are twins and both have blue 05 WRX's hahaha gotta hate but hey haters gonna hate anyways. I let one of the drive my RA once and I had an offer on my Recaro seats if I ever got rid of them. The two twins fight over everything, including my seats they don't even own and who gets them. I'm waiting for the day I come out to the university parking lot and my cars burn't and the twins each have a new Canadian Leather Recaro in their WRX's hahaha.

Luckily my friend owns a car wash so they always take care of me. And usually one of the homies drives my car for an off the rack wash.

As for oil changes, rain/shine i always do mine.

Hmm, sounds miserable. Not sure why you'd brag about washing your car in the most uncomfortable weather possible.

touchless car wash ftmfw!

for $5 i get the under carriage sprayed, the car rinsed, soaped up, spot free rinsed, and air dried...all touchless and no one drives my car but me.

as for oil changes, i buy 5 quarts of mobile 1 for $30 at walmart and the dealer changes it for $20 w/filter and tax.

Don't forget, the "certified" techs at the dealership aren't the ones doing the oil changes, that's the lube oil guys job....generally not certified on anything.

My car is covered in salt and road grime, hasnt been washed in probably a month and change, interior has leaves and crap stuck to the mats, and has scratches in some of the wierdest damn places (on the trunk lid, directly under the spoiler? seriously?)

I drive it to drop my kid off at daycare, go to work, get groceries, take the wife shopping, and anywhere else I need to go.

And as dirty and scratched up as it is, its still a damn fine ride.

As long as its under warranty its going to the dealership for every service. Not because I think there is anything wrong with a quicklube or anywhere else, but if something goes wrong I want to be able to produce all of my maintenance paperwork and tell the dealership that they are the only ones that have ever touched my car.

And oh yeah, you guys that park your **** way out at the end of the parking lot are not doing yourselves any favors. In fact, some people will see the car (especially the SSS's with the big *** spoilers) and *gasp* intentionally go park next to you to **** you off. And maybe even ding your door on purpose.

Hate comes from both ignorance and envy. Leave both of those out of the equation. Sorry to break the news, but the Evo is not a Camry or Ford, you should NOT take it anywhere to let someone else drive it. I don't like the Mitsubishi service writer or mechanic driving it. Letting some min wage punk or **** drive it is a definite NO-NO.

If you want an oil change, pay premo for Mitsubishi or learn to get under the car. If you want a car wash, hand wash, or use one of the rare no-clearance-problem "no touch" car washes. DIY or die.

True, but if the Mitsubishi uncertified monkey doesn't remember to install or tighten your under carriage access bolts, the dealer will take care of you. If the Jiffy Lube (or for me Mobile1) oil change place does the same, you're SOL. At least typically the dealer oil changes are driven in by the service writer, guaranteed to be older than the grease monkeys and a lot more savvy about HIS customers. Grease monkeys are those cause they haven't yet developed customer service mentality.

I don't think I've ever seen that happen. They are too busy/important to do the lot porter/grease monkey's job.

That actually happened to me. I was parked way out, came out of a store only to find a rusted out POS right next to my car. It immediately occurred to me that this person chose to walk an extra 200-300 yards just to do this, so I decided to wait for him. Perhaps 10 minutes later, there he comes. I'm a grown man, ~6'/200lbs and pissed off like no other. He's a kid, maybe 5.6'/150lbs soaking wet. Let's just say that our conversation didn't lasts long before he ran back to the store. I doubt he'll do something like this ever again at the risk of meeting someone like...well...me when he comes back.

I have no intention of breaking the forum rules and advocating an act that is less than diplomatic. I will say, however, that if we all followed a no-tolerance policy when it comes to this kind of BS, it wouldn't happen nearly as much. People like this are acting aggressively toward us and our property. That's not something to sit still for.

+1. Some of the best conversations that I've had were with Porsche and M3 owners at the track.
