I drive a lot, average 45,000 miles a year. In both Los Angeles traffic and long distance. I Just bought a new 2010 GSR. I wasn't a big fan of the paddles in my 09 GTS. I know there is a big difference between the MR and GTS but I just prefer the manual tranny. The manual doesn't bother me at all. Ultimately it should be up to your mom and you need to live with her voice. Regardless, either car will be fun. Good luck.

Yea my mom previously owned a s60r (6 speed) and it was a ton of fun. I think we are going to buy the GSR because it is a few thousand $ less and comes with the leather seats instead of cloth. Either way I am happy to be driving a car rather than a truck.

thanks for your advice

But no seriously, who's driving the car you? How much traffic are you in on a daily/weeklly basis and what part of cali? I'm out in SoCal for business often (usually between HB and Simi) and I wouldn't drive a manual as my primary if I had a choice.

hahahaha
