I check the for sale sections every now and then to see if there are any good deals popping up on the X's. I came across this one and thought it was too good to be true. I called the dealership and they said it was a managers special! They said nothing is wrong with it and the one owner car fax checked out. Too bad they also said it sold yesterday morning (this was on saturday)

I just don't understand how they can sell it so low with nothing wrong? They said they would call me if they have another deal like that. I would drive 1500 miles for a deal like that lol.

I thought maybe it was something to reel people in but he never said anything like, I have 2 other evos on our lot. He just said he would take my number and call me if they do another special.

Just want to see if any knows anything about this car or anyone in the NJ area knows about this dealership.

under hood shots would have been helpful. the exhaust isn't stock and neither are the trim pieces of the interior.

 

Lol.. that price is for a base lancer that is a SCAM... 08 evo's doesn't depreciate that much

 

carfax will be your friend on this car..

edit: just looked at the basic carfax, and it came up clean with no problems "reported"

 

That isn't true. I've seen salvaged/wrecked Evo Xs sell for more than that.

 

I would love to have some one check it out but its already gone. I am just wondering if anyone knows anything about it. Either way I am going to call the dealership back in a month and see if they are running anymore manager specials lol. The guy was so serious it just didn't seem like a trick to get people to call if they weren't going to try and sell me anything else.

 

Could also be a bait & switch as far as just getting you to the dealership. I have seen this before, they advertise it at very low prices but have already sold it to another dealership or at auction. Pay close attention, you may see it pop back up at another dealership at a significantly higher price. May not be the case, but it happened to me. Got the "it just sold" line when I arrived to check out a car, magically I saw it pop back up at another dealership a week later for $7K more than they had it advertised for originally...and yes this was for an '08 MR.

 

If someone is up for it. Would you guys be willing to call the dealership and just ask if the car is still for sale. I want to see if they give the same "this sold yesterday line." And see what else they would say.

 

I did find a nice GSR for 21K with 27K miles close by me. It is a private seller though. Just wish it was a dealer I would probably trade the RA for that price.

 

lol i bought it hahahahaha i was looking on cars . com like 2 weeks ago and bought it and got it shipped to chicagoooo . car is running awesome and its nicely modded with the exhaust intake and it was tuned by previous owner
