Looking at an Evo...
I'm in the same boat as the OP. I'm looking for an MR so the transmission is a big concern for me. I want a GSR but the amount of traffic in my area, I know I'll hate myself after getting stuck in traffic a few times. Plus I'm used to the paddle shifting as it is the same as my E60 M5
Not a single day goes by without a smile on my face either inside or outside my car. Rush traffic isn't an excuse not buy a GSR. It does suck sometimes -especially when going up-hills during busy traffic, but I don't find myself stuck in rush-hour traffic a whole lot.
MR is very reliable. There HAVE been a couple of oddball SST issues and failures, but nowhere near to the number of MRs on the road. I say oddball because there was no rhyme or reason for it.
There are a few SST failures for guys pushing over 350hp/tq on stock clutch pack, but that's easily upgradeable IF you have that kind of goal set for your vehicle in mind.
If it's just a daily driver with no real mod plans, it's a dream!

first off, it's not an automatic. it's a dual clutch manual transmission with an automatic setting. it does everything a manual does, only faster, and without the use of a clutch pedal.
