I would be more concerned of why he has petroleum jelly with him haha. As for have the semi-automatic, who cares man. You like what you like. Little do people know, transmissions such as the TC-SST and the DSG for volkswagen and audi will soon be taking over. Simply for the fact that they shift quicker than the manual transmission and give better fuel economy. Personally I'm a sports guy. When you have a sports car, it should be stick. But that is just my opinion. The MR is such a great car. If it were stick I would of gotten it instead of the GSR.

As obvious as it may have looked that the STI owner may have done it, there's of course the idea that people generally don't vandalize cars and then decide to park next to the same vehicle.

What's much more likely is that the STI owner had friends (a stretch, I know) and one of those guys decided to act like a douche.

People are so ignorant they hate cus you didn't get a stick evo. So your not cool or your a *** when in fact that sst transmission will shift faster and more efficient then they ever will and this is coming from a gsr owner.

I like stick over auto. Sure alot of fancy cars have paddles rally formula one and what not but if they drove stick or in formula one could fit a stick in there it is just that much more driver skill. He could have said that to your face and not on your car.

If a formula 1 car had a stick, that drive would lose every single time. No way they can shift as fast as the computer can.

LOL,

to the people that comment on stick and auto in a race car..

you simply cannot drive a manual gearbox car as fast hence why technology has gone that direction... plus less wear on the gearbox.. etc..

when you do endurance races with paddle shift or bump shift in a car without powersteering and thousands of pounds of downforce.. then you understand why

not that I know anything about it

hee he

regardless..

take it as a compliment.... jealousy presents itself in many ways

(I am enjoying my ralliart sportback more than I did my evo X GSR hee he)

I can't wait until they come out with Automatic steering/throttle on cars. That way I don't have to do anything but sit back and watch the car drive me around. Everything could be done thru a "mind control" unit on my head. Or maybe I don't have to be in the car. I could be sitting in a room somewhere nearby the track while I remotely control the car with my thoughts.
Sounds like so much fun.

No one can disagree that it's faster and more efficient to use paddle shifters/technology to get a car around a track. But there is something much more visceral about driving manual versus any automatic/paddle shifter/etc.

Why do some of you prefer to wash your own car? Replace your own oil? Install your own parts? Sure, there's a slight chance that another person may screw it up but LOL I've seen way more threads that say "Help on install" than I can count.

As long as manual cars are provided for every sporty vehicle I purchase, stick will be my choice. I don't religiously track like some members here pretend to so an extra 1-3 seconds getting from my house to the grocery store really doesn't interest me. I'd rather blip the throttle and marvel at my own driving skills.

Driving stick is really a lost art for many young people now. I believe it's a vital skill that every human being should know, esp. for those unlikely moments you may have to drive one.

I love stick kind of sucks how mitsu went the way they did with the MR. Don't get me wrong the whole paddle shifting thing is really neat, but Im one who appreciates the raw feeling and knowing that your the one getting threw the gears.
/thread jack haha

to the op, I HATE people that mess with someone other peoples car. I probably wouldn't have done anything to his, but your damn sure I would've made a valid point to the owner of the subie to not **** with ones car. Thats one thing as it is, MOST of the subie guys walk around thinking they have a big dick cause they seen Ken Block driving one. ****ing asshats.
SOME suby guys are cool. but most drive like asshats and have no respect for any other drivers on the road.

Ah the ignorence, funny thing is the SST, as implemented in the MR, imparts more of a feeling of control over the car on both the street and race track than a manual. This coming from somone who has owned over 50 (lost count) manual shift cars in 42 years of driving, still owns an excellent shifting Honda S2000, has alwas hated shushboxes, and who thinks an "auto" in a sports car is heresey. I waited patiantly for some one other than Ferrari and Nissan (GT-R) to do a proper racing racing automated clutch gearbox (cannot stand the VW, Audi, and M3 DCT's, feels like driving a "shushbox"), now that I got the Mitsu DCT there is no looking back

Old and soft, NOT!
