How is that possible, when one of the determinates of control is removed?

THis is true...if you can't drive stick, go with the MR. LOL. Well MR is probably better, but it feels like you are playing Gran Turismo playstation 3 with the paddle shifter steering wheel. Sorry truth hurts.

Sure, as long as that feeling doesn't exceed 320ft/tq, then SST starts to lose a little of that over all control. lol

I've driven my buddy's 09 RA and it's pretty cool the way it feels like a perfect shift through the entire range. Much more DD friendly I would imagine if you live in an area with considerable stop & go traffic.

One over several disadvantages that outweigh the advantages.

the evo is for driving through the mountains, not for parking at a ski area.

The clutch packs can be upgraded or am I wrong? I just traded my viii for an x mr and have no regrets s-sport and sport are fun in auto and regular mode is even fun when messin with the paddles. Now I can drink when I'm out in my car cuz my designated driver no longer can be afraid of the manual transmission.

Of course the clutch packs can be upgraded to handle more torque for enough $$$. Hell, you could have had an SST installed in your VIII if you were willing to pay enough for it! lol I'm not sure what the going rate for the SST clutch pack upgrades are to be honest. It may or not be cheaper then those of us with the 5speed that upgrade to a dual or twin plate clutch which can easily get into the several thousand range. Hopefully with shops like SSP hard at work developing kits the SST will be a strong competitor for cars like the GT-R which is putting down some serious #'s with their twin clutch systems. And for a 1/3rd of the price of a GT-R

OK, you lose control over slipping the clutch at launch, under all other conditions you gain control over the car (objective) more importantly you feel more in control (subjective). Don't believe me? Drive one in the canyons in sport or s-sport manual mode for a day. I was fortunate to spend a day at Infinion Raceway (Jim Russel Evo Experience) thrashing the **** out GSR's, MR's, and MR-T's. Every single driver (about ten that day) came away from the “experience” preferring the SST gearbox! Even drag racers are faster with the SST; the 5sp does provide more control over the 60' and reaction time at the line but the SST makes up for it in better shifts and pulls away at about 100ft (all other things being equal).

If slipping the clutch makes your day by all means get a 5sp but don’ttt sell the SST short as some sort of namby pamby slushbox that kills the fun of driving a “sport sedan” .

Internet myth, there are many exceeding this so called limit, including my self (395lbft on Dynapack, or about 350n on DD) without issue.

I have no doubt that the auto is quicker and easier to manage on the track/canyon/etc than the manual. I think this goes without saying, as it only stands to reason, given fewer inputs to modulate. I just question the control factor. During the course of the day, one uses the clutch quite a bit to gain a given position. This option is eliminated with an automatic. As such, it cannot offer more control by definition.

The torque limit is from the programming in the ECU/TCU not the clutch pack, the clutches can easily exceed 400lbft according to the Getrag in Germany, the manufacturer. We can easily exceed 320lbft by re flashing the ECU, we will go much higher once the TCU is cracked (soon).

MXP cat back exhaust
SSP front mount trans cooler

Green relay, that's it, it must have been the fuel pump relay!

Please elaborate; I cannot think of a one.
