Need help guys please help 08 evo x
Ok so I just bought my 1st Evo this past Saterday from a dealership over 2 Hours away from where I live and have a potentially serious problem I think..
1st things 1st after driving the car for 120 miles my "Service Engine Soon" light has come on, I brought it to my local shop and pluged in the code reader and its telling my 1 code I dont recal the exact code right now but it was "BANK 1 TOO RICH"
My car is 100% stock I don't beat on it and it only has 16,342 miles
I'm pretty sure Mitsubishi has to cover this under the factory warranty and if not the used car jerk that sold me this car would have too....
What could be causing this has anyone heard of this before?

You might be screwed getting it serviced where you purchased it from, and you might be screwed getting it serviced by
if it was modified by the previous owner.
What I can tell you, is this probably isn't a big deal cost wise. If I were you, I'd contact a local tuner and see what they say. It could be a MAF, which is under $200. But one thing I'm wondering, is if it still has an aftermarket tune on it, but the original owner put all the stock parts back on, making the tune not specific to your car.

Obviously, it could have been carefully put back together, but if the markings aren't aligned, you know it's been pulled apart. Same thing with the BOV connection, and the BOV return hose (where it connects to the lower I/C inlet.)
car might have a tune for bolt ons , and since they are removed now running rich. But im not a tuner, you should ask in the ECU forum below.
Congrats for your car ! dont sweat on it too much

I know you must be really frustrated. Just bought a new car and it already has problems. I would find a dealer or a good performance shop that deals with a good bit of X's and see what the problem is. It probably isn't that big of a deal.

if it was modified by the previous owner."i dont think so, if he got it from a dealr bone stock and he brings it back in that condition, as far as im concerned that is a dealership problem. They sold the car in that condition and they do not note no warranty. They cant deny it, there is no court will grant them.
He might even can make money on it
I did some, with a dealer sold gap insurance BS.They / judge / called it a customer fraud.
Thats what I was thinking that maybe/most likely it was modded before and he took the parts off when he returned it off lease but didnt bother to take the tune off, another thing that marked me as funny is the neg battery cable seemed like it had been loosened...what I found out the car was leased out of NJ then sold to Auction in PA, then purchased by Car Tec Enterprise in Deer Park NY in Long Island....Then I bought it and here we are...
Im going to check all vacuum lines in the morning im gunna he so pissed if it has a tune on it bc that means ill be screwed out of a warrenty and I wont even know what mods to put back on to correct the proper tune....either way I have a Cobb on the way it should arive within 2 days..
PS....thank you everybody for the help

dealership, they WILL deny his warranty.I highly suggest finding out if your tune is factory before you show the car to
OK guys Heres where were at....I am positive this car was in fact modified in the past heres where it should have been evident,
(1) All the rear and front emblems have been removed (and nicely might I add)
(2) All the paint mark inside the engine bay do not line up
So im not too worried about it because I do have the Cobb on the way but my next question is if before I bring the car into the
dealership if all the paint marks dont match up will that alone void my warranty?
