Hate to ask this.. CF Lip questions

Hey Guys,

I REALLY hate to ask this because I'm sure it has been asked in the past, but I can't seem to dig up any info, so I'm gonna make this thread.

I have the factory Aero kit, it was in pretty bad shape on the underside from the previous owner taking it over curbs obviously.. but after last weekends canyon run I went to, a few of us were doing uhh considerable speed going into a dip that looked pretty much like this \\ //, and I heard a scrape but didn't notice anything major until I washed the car yesterday. Pretty big gash on the lip near the passenger underside. So I have decided to replace it with the best looking and most feasible option out there... carbon fiber.

I need your help.. because I have the factory aero kit, I have heard that most lips require me to purchase the black lip from Mitsu before installing the new one. I'd really like to not have to do that, can anyone recommend a straight replacement? I have heard the Seibon V-Style swaps perfectly and fits well as well.

I also would like your opinion(s) on something else.. I actually like the look of the black plastic lip from the factory (aka no aero kit), so I am considering getting the CF Lip where the sides are painted and leaving the middle part CF, I think that would look awesome and better then just the whole thing CF. Opinions, suggestions, comments... all encouraged.

Just glanced through all 10 pages, nothing about a straight replacement of the OEM Aero.

the factory black plastic piece...

Compared to:

Between the lower parts of the bumper. The aero cars don't have that black piece underneath and most aftermarket lips will do not cover it like the OEM aero.

I thought the front aero piece covers that up...so in essence if you were to take it off it would already be there.....

Oh your not looking for the piece but a lip that would fit over it....sorry. If that was the case one would think that when a lip is designed it would cover that....that's actually the front bumper...

I'm thinking about going with the Voltex lip with the the splitter on the front....I'm starting to wonder if there be any issues with fitment myself....

you could always buy a CF Aero kit front lip and paint the sides and keep the middle carbon. Im thinking of doing this

lol When you do get a CF lip, be careful on those canyon runs. CF will crack and shatter easier than the stock aero kit.
