Unhappy Evo X or 600HP IS300... I need help.

Here's the story. I'm about to blow about 24K and I was set on getting and X, but then.... I came across this...

And i am torn.

History:
240sx to 2004 Evo VIII(rip) and now i have an Auto Is300 which I have had for about 3 yrs and its time for an upgrade. I love the IS and love the Evo but This IS is simply AMAZING. My thing is It will be my Daily. Work commute is 30 miles total and we have the wife's car for the long trips.
Also the IS300T has >10K on the clock.

What do you guys think? Is it too crazy for a DD.

EVO X offcourse, why do you want to buy a car that you have NO idea how is built, and if something goes wrong you would not know where to start. Plus Evo is more user friendly in daily basis and the Evo looks a lot better IMO. But its all about your goals, you need to ask yourself if you want a car for just cruising around/racing or for everyday use.

From what I understand IS300's are kind of a PITA to work on. I would go with the EVO.

Thanks Erald... You are right and maybe I just need someone to talk some sense into me.... The thing is I know you built the car and my Evo VIII tuner(who is one of the best here in SFL) can all vouch for the car. So I know its a well built car.

I had a Lexus IS300 before my EVO X and I liked the IS300 alot. But honestly... I like the EVO X WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY MORE!!!

As somebody already said... do you really want to take on an heavily modified car that you are unsure of how the build was done? Also... any IS300 is now an OLD CAR... and things deteriorate with age.

The IS300 was a nice car... but the EVO X is better. And if you enjoy driving... the driving experience of the EVO X will blow away the IS300.

I must say, well I guess it is fast, but honestly I think the IS300 is so very unattractive. I'm sorry, I guess it's all a matter of opinion - so I suppose i would buy the Evo.

Can't mess with the 2jz.
What will you be using your next car for? Fast in a straight line or do you like the twistys?
I was torn between a supra and a Evo. I have an evo now but im still torn between the two. You might feel the same way. Would you be buying the Evo new? Whats your financial situation? Would you be able to afford fixing a highly modified Car because the guy who built it took short cuts? Just some ideas. Both GREAT cars Good luck with eather car and enjoy

So i guess its 10 to 0 on the IS huh?

I do love the X and a friend of mine is selling his GG 08 35k miles SSS, BC coilovers, Greddy TiC, Front mount(?), Short shifter with bushings( TWM is think), Ralliart tails, custom headlights.

He really babies the car and is super clean, He said he dyno'd at 350whp 400tq which doesnt really right to me, chime in on that.

He wants $25k. So i dunno.

Mr. Move it sounds like you know what I'm going through. I'm not a weekend warrior or anything. I know the 600hp is overkill but it would be nice.
I know the is300 is a comfortable car. How do you like the X for the long haul, Seats, rattles, etc?

PS. I will post this on MY.IS and tell you guys what the verdict is.

the is300 seems like somebody else's dream come true. I'd say go with your first choice, that is300 doesn't seem too practical
