Considering a used X MR
i hear ya i hear ya.
well, im sure you'll make the right decision choosing between models.
i've been away from my car too long, and can't wait for the end of this month because i order my GSR
. and it'll be there when i get back from deployment... yesssss
and i'll have a garage full of unopened boxes filled with toys to go into it... after the break in of course.

Does anyone know if an SE is still an option? Like.. would I still be able to order an SE from the dealership?
I imagine a new SE ordered.. might be in the low 30s.. I don't think I can afford anything past $35k so if I could still order one.. that might be something to look into. I put in an online inquiry saying I was interesting within the next 6 months and the dealership by me won't stop harassing me.. He finally gave up calling me and sent me an email.. I wrote 'em back and asked if that was an option still.

but in 6 months I don't expect any 2010 SE's to be left
I bought my MR used in May of last year. Since then I've put 12,000+ miles on it and modded it. I've had no problems whatsoever, nor has Mitsu voided my warranty when I take the car in for work (Shirlie Slack Mitsu in Fredericksburg is pretty mod-friendly).
replaced his transmission. His issues were completely related to it being a lemon and / or the previous owner performing unknown mods to it. My opinion, if you can buy directly from the original owner and he'll let you ask questions about the car, and you can tell he took great care of it, and it's stock
... it'd be ok. If it's modded, forget it. If it's at a dealership, forget it. It's more trouble than it's worth.
I just sold my 2008 full packaged MR with $10k miles for $29k to give you a rough idea of what they are going for from the owners.
I am one of those guys that doesn't believe in buying new cars, but when it comes to a vehicle like an Evo, that goes out the window. The Evo turns even grandmas into street racers. Never know what the previous owner did to the car, and what may be lurking in failures.
Woah, Webman's issues were completely unrelated to the SST. And

I just recently bought a used MR and I am very happy. I got mine from a dealer(not mitsu) who one of the mechanics was selling to go back to a stick. It had low miles(13k), never modded, still has 1 year left on the bumper to bumper and aside from a couple paint chips looked brand new inside and out. So far no issues or leaks and car runs great.
I did alot of research and there are several things you should be strict about.
1. unmodded
2. low miles
3. responsible owner/good maintenance
4. plenty of warranty left(sst). At this point would look for something sold in 09 or later(want powertrain to have at least 3 years left)
I think all of the above are a must, and if you stick to these rules you cant go wrong
