is ithis normal? MR idle RPM jump

I noticed that whenever I come to a stoplight or parked, the rpm jumps usually without any throttle. Only mods in the car are filter + tune, and a boost gauge. Should I take it to the dealership or is it normal Here is a video of X doing the same thing?

Did you check the vacuum hose coming form the Fuel Pressure Regulator? It's a known issue. Give it a search there is a nice post with a picture of what to look for it might even be a sticky. I had an idle problem and that was the cause.

Did it act like that before the tune? My car doesn't do that.

Bringing it to the dealer won't do any good imo. They will see that it has been tuned and will probably void your warranty. That second video definitely isn't a normal idle. My idle fluctuates slightly but I am bone stock no tune.

I can always go back to stock since I have Cobb AP, but it acts more like the first video during normal driving. I usually drive around 5mph under speed limit to save gas and the rpm's stay under 2.5k. I've launched my car once other than that I've done some spirited driving once in a while thats it.

Might want to check this vacuum line:

Other then that , mine does it too. Not really a cause for concern. Mine generally idles below 1 and occasionally the rev meter bounces to close to 1 and goes back down.

Definitely check the vac line. Mine did this so I brought it to the dealership. They said it was the throttle body and changed it. They knew I had a tune and a drop in and still TRIED to help. After my X spending two days with them it still had the problem. Went to talk to the mechanics and they were like it must have been the tuner. So I went to my tuner (iveytune) and he reflashed it. Problem solved! It is fixable

Dud mine does the same exact thing! It happened right after I put the stage 1 tune with my cobb ap. I then retuned to the same tune a couple times and it jumps very minimum now. I don't think it has anything to do with the vacuum line, but it doesn't hurt to check. Ima check mine out today

Second video: No that is definitely not normal. If you have a custom tune, I'd definitely go back there immediately. If you have a OTS tune, put the stock one back on if your mods can handle it. Who knows what else is going on with your tune if that isn't correct.

That is unless the fuel regulator vacuum hose is off. Might want to check that. In fact check all of your lines.

What mods do you have?

Only mods are hks filter + custom tune on AP. But, it doesn't make the noise like the second video. It's acting exactly like the first one. I called the local dealership and they said its normal, should I just leave it alone or call more dealerships to get an accurate answer?

The reason they said this is because the Evo x (gsr and mr) have a weird idle, where it tends to bounce around a little. But NOT as much as yours. Take it back to the tuner
