Should I get a warranty?
If I had the original stuff I'd be getting it in a heartbeat but I do not have the original stuff since I bought it used and the previous owner sold it all to someone else even the module for the tune that belongs to my car, so I need to go buy a new one with cobb to replace it so I can go back to stock if need be.
Not true at all. I've spoken with a few dealerships on extended warranties and they all have said the same thing. That it's not a hassle. The Subi dealer I went through when I had my WRX said that they deal with them on an average basis and usually the dealer will just send an invoice to the warranty company and as long as the warranty level the customer purchased it covers that part they warranty center will just write them a check. With that being said don't just trust any old random closet office warranty company. Do your research. Usually banks tend to offer credible companies they will recommend because banks like to protect their investment. The longer you own that car the more money they will make in return on interest. (((don't know about dealers and how well those warranty recommendations are though)))

When my g/f bought her evo x se last sat, the dealer threw at her 3 different warranties!!!!
One, was an extended warranty. He told her, that because this was an evo, it only has a 3 year warranty on it. (The manual and sticker clearly shows a 3yr bumper to bumper, 5yr powertrain, 7 yr paint.) Thats it, he said. He said "if you were buying the lancer, I wouldnt even bring this up, but since its an evo, parts are very expensive" I interrupted him before he could finish and said NO.
Then he began to preach about some warranty that replaces tires if you have a blowout! Seriously!!!??? My g/f immediately said NO!
Then the third, was some bulll**** warranty replacing windows, if something happens. Isnt this what insurance is for!!??
Seriously, the dealers love to sell those things. They make a TON of money off them im sure. I got one on my first evo, biggest mistake I ever made when buying a car. Then they will also tell you, "if you decide you dont want the warranty, just call and cancel it". They are pro-rated, so you wont get all your money back, but the compay will send you a check. Well I canceled mine, never saw a dime!
I have read somewhere in a info on dealing with salesman/dealerships. One of the main points, was to not buy an extended warranties the dealer offers you.

I would just check to make sure the coverage is good for you and that the price is worth it. If it looks good I would get a warranty.
A fair number of comments regarding how extended warranties make the dealership (or insurance company offering it) money. Well yes, of course they do, just like selling cars makes them money, and parts, and service. They are not running a charity.
That said, what price peace of mind? An extended warranty (presuming you don't violate the hell out of it) is a contract that must clearly stipulate the terms. To deny coverage based on modifications requires them to demonstrate the impact of the mod on the item that failed. If they can, then they won't pay. You need to weigh your moddiing agenda against the cost of peace of mind that the warranty offers.
I recently bought a new (used) tow vehicle and spent another $1500 on an extended warranty. I don't know how long I'll own the vehicle, but if it is 3 years then the cost of that peace of mind is about $41 a month. In the scheme of things, this seemed totally worth it as it extends bumper to bumper coverage to 100k.
My point is that I wouldn't get too caught up in whether they are making money off of you, they are, get over it. Decide whether you want that peace of mind, what it's worth to you, and if you feel comfortable with the mods planned in contrast with the terms of the contract.
