Auto Butler Experience?

Hey guys, anybody have experience with a paint treatment dealerships offer called "Auto Butler"? My dealer had to get my Evo from another dealership that didn't offer the service, and now my they're giving me 5 years Auto Butler protection for free.

I'm pretty savvy when it comes to detailing cars... for somebody who is going to be washing/polishing/waxing the car on a regular basis, is this treatment even worth my time? Again, it's being offered to me for "free"...

I don't think it's worth it. I'm sure your paint would get marred up. I don't even trust when the dealer washes my car, so I tell them not to every time.

I just ran a quick search for the product. Like similar services, it's essentially a paint sealant that must be reapplied at regular intervals. No different than what's done in one's garage on a spare Saturday. So, it doesn't really matter whether it's on the paint or not.

As for the point made in the post above, it's a legitimate concern. I had no paint prep written into the sales contract for that reason.

I wouldn't bother with auto butler either. My car came fresh off the truck, and I told the dealer not to touch it unless it they had to. No paint prep, wash, etc. I washed it myself, then promptly clear bra'd it. Paint looks good, i.e. no swirls (until of course it gets rock chips lol).

Point is, if you want something done right, do it yourself. Since you've detailed cars before, you should be alright OP.
