I just had to pay my insurance for my Evo it came to $1604 for a year. Im 22 and have no 'no claims bonus' as interestingly where I live they do not take 'no claims' into account.

Before I bought my evo i used to drive a Hyundai tiburon (2.0 4cyl) and that used to cost me $140 a year! (when i was 18 years old) Was shocked when i got quoted so high for the Evo, but its as we all know its worth it!

Wow, I pay about $360/6months for mine. State Farm, 35 years old, multivehicle discount. The X was cheaper than the IX MR.

I am paying around the same. I am 29 and have a few other car's on there. That sucks though that its rated 1 on the top crash list.

As far as Evo owner's always driving fast I really have not noticed that. I know I drive mine like normal on the street's but its not my Daily and I have only had it a month =-P

I haven't noticed it much here either. However... I think florida is another story

It would be interesting to see state statistics on what state has crashed the most evos.

Crazy.

I pay 73.83 a month for my GSR X. That is a combo with Home and auto. 24, married and 0 points or wrecks.

Maybe we should all drive our cars real easy and slow for a year to drop it back down.
Better make that six years to have any effect on pricing. One year won't be noticed by abyone.

My previous car was an S2000 (also on the top 10) and the alternative to the Evo was an STI (also on the top 10) so I didnt really care at that point.

I did end up switching insurance companies to get a better rate, though.

I'm exactly the same way. When I'm cruising on the freeway I tend to always ensure someone close by is driving faster. But... I OWN FREEWAY ON-RAMPS!!!!

Yeh i suppose to some places that is kinda cheap, but in comparison to what i used to pay for my tiburon its more than 10x the price! insurance where i live is usually very very cheap!

come back in 6 months when your policy is up for renewal.

When I first got my X (MY08) it was cheaper than my MY05 VIII... then 6 months later the rate jumped something stupid like an additional $60/mo.

I think it has something to do with the lack of data on a new model year (even though the MY11 is the same as the MY08/MY10), and then as more data comes in (people begin to stuff their cars), the price gets adjusted upward. but I'm not an actuary, so YMMV.

also... gentlemen... if you are married, it is typically cheaper to list your wife as the primary driver on your Evo (unless your wife drives an Evo, too). yes, this is legit/legal... my agent actually suggested it.

we have 3 cars(that run/are insured):
'08 Evo X(my car): wife as primary driver
'99 Saab 9-3 Viggen(wife's car): "weekend" car status
'84 VW Rabbit (my beater): me as primary driver

still pay about $250/mo :-/... (it should be noted I have a total loss claim, 1 ticket and the wife has 1 ticket as well)
