another warranty issue thread
Im gona start this thread and vent about warranty issues with mitsubishi... I hope my anger doesnt make me rant like an idiot but here goes... I believe its two things that control warranty stuff, the dealer and the regional manager or whatever their title is... My dealer(star mitsu in qweens,ny) is beyond great, but the mitsu guy who has the final say is a piece of ****. Long story short, my passenger head light was defective, letting dust in and fogging, daytime driving light went out 4 times and replaced under waranty, had some retard scratch my bumper on the oposite side so i had the bumper repainted... the mitsu guy didnt believe the dealer pics to replace my light so he had me take a day off work to take the car to be inspected... they denied my claim and i had to pay for a f@ckin $850 headlight. The parts manager and the service manager both pleaded with the mitsu guy for nothing...
I love my evo insanely, waited 2 years for this car to come out taking the damn train here in nyc, it was the first mr in the east coast acording to the dealer i got it from who i believe is here in the forum and used to work for maywood mitsubishi where i bought it... Ill enjoy it till 2013, it only has 29,000 miles and hopefully there will be no issues with it till then. At that point hopefully the new STI isnt pig ugly or the ford focus rs will be here in the states and AWD... I will never buy another mitsubishi of any kind again... Sorry if i ranted anyways, just pissed as hell...

Take it up with your insurance company then. I honestly can't blame Mitsu for not wanting to replace a headlight if your car had a front-end impact. In that case, your car insurance should cover it.
^ it wasn't an "impact" and it was on the other side... And the dealer had taken pics before that happened. The issue with headlight began way before my bumper was scratched
My dealer scratched the back rear bumper on my car and I didn't notice it until the next day. I know they did it but can't prove to them that they did.
Next time, if ever, I have to take my car to the dealer I'm going to video the entire exterior of the car.

That strategy will not work, as they're going to dispute when you actually took the video. What I've been doing for years, since I purchased my first new car, is to walk with the service adviser around the car and have him inspect it prior to me leaving. Then, when i go pick up the car, i once again walk around the car with the same service adviser to make sure no damage has been done while the car was at the dealership. I got burned once (car was in to get an alignment, and when i picked it up, i noticed that both front fenders were buckled, as if some moron bounced the front end off a ramp), but never again after that incident. If the service adviser gives you any **** about that, walk into the GM's office and let him know about your concerns.
