Possibly Stupid question?

was thinking of getting an ETS 4" Intercooler, does the piping have to be 4"? how does having different sizes work? any input appreciated.

4" refers to the thickness of he core, which is where the work happens. Then the end tanks of the intercooler have the correct size inlets/outlets for couplers to attach. So they stay the same. Hope this helps.

no such thing as a stupid question. guy above me is correct, however I would be quick to add that you probably don't need a 4" core on your stock turbo(?). not sure how these things fit, but I can't imagine a 4" core fitting without some trimming.

from what i've heard the ets seems to fit fine without any issues. look forward to buying it. thanks all of you for the input!

No trimming at all. It's a direct fit intercooler and works with stock piping.

I've got the ETS 4" FMIC and it requires no cutting. Perfect fit and great product!
