No, from what I gather, in Canada the GSR could be ordered with the Bilstien/Eibach suspension from the MR. Seems they got everything more alacarte like Japan than we did.

Im thinking your talking about the SE. Its pretty much a mix of the MR and GSR parts.

 

No, in Canada we can order the GSR with the handling package that consist of the bilstein shocks, BBS wheels and 2 pieces rotor from the MR and the high profile wing.

Not worth the 3000$ price tag.

I would prefer the "SS" options you guys got in the US.

As for the comparison between the GSR VS MR suspension, what I've seen is that the MR suspension is a bit more comfortable but that there's no real improvements in the handling department.

 

Ride height is the same.
Differences in appearance: BBS wheels, red springs, yellow shock bodies, and 2-piece rotors (none of which are visible except the wheels at a casual glance).

 

This is my evo that came with handling package. It wasnt by choice, I needed a car right away since my subaru outback died in the middle of highway 1 - lol. (I was told It was the last one in BC or have to wait for 2011 models) Anyways I couldnt stand how high it was so this is now lowered with swift spec r springs.

 

hey guys, im the op's boyfriend. I'll be picking our 2011 evo-gsr up on friday. I'll give the low-down of whats going on and why this thread was made.

Theres 2 dealerships in my city (Northside Mitsu and Westside Mitsu). I went to Northside since they are just down the road from me. Took a MR our for a test drive, cant say i liked the transmission. So they told me a gsr would be perfect for me. I decided not to get the handling package that costs $3000. Now Northside mitsu didnt have any gsr's on their lot but westside had 2 or 3...cant remember if the other one i seen was a gsr or mr. Northside is getting one of their cars for me, although from what i remember, the manager at Westside told me the cars we looked at all had the handling package. (I thought if it had the high rise spoiler it did, but later found out all GSR's have it) And i cant remember which car had the bbs rims.

I just got home from being away with the army (had to do a parade in Calgary for Will and Kate) So ill be going to the dealership tomorrow to see if they have the car yet, if not ill go to the other dealership and see what it has. I'll be picking the car up friday. Although i just found out the other day that im heading to Afghanistan next month for 8 months so i wont get much time to enjoy the car.

 

Just a quick update, me and the gf took a drive to the dealership that still has the car we are getting. It does indeed have the handling package. It has the high rise spoiler, 2 piece front rotor, brembo brakes, yellow struts, red springs and bbs rims. We signed for the car and we asked for one without it but it has it so thats a $3000 package we are getting for free...gotta love when dealerships screw up.
