What is causing this gas mileage lately? 150 miles/tank??
My gas mileage went to **** the past couple of days and its because of my pre-cat o2 sensor has gone to ****... I need to replace it. Getting an ef2 and other crap done probably didnt help either but my gas millage went to **** about 4-5 days AFTER I got the turbo and etc and right after I got the code for pre-cat o2 sensor.
I have a 2011 GSR (5500miles) and from the start I avg 15-16.5...15 when I'm messing around alot and 16.5 if I granny shift. (Mixed City and Highway...mostly 2 lane city)
So I refill every 160 miles on avg but I always refill on the first fuel warning so theoretically could get a little more from a tank.
Thats on 93 Octane only.
I'm fine with the gas mileage because I know this type of car ain't about gas mileage.

This is not the only problem. It has to do with Reid Vapor pressure, butane content, and a lot of other additives etc.
Oxygenation also has an effect on the way gasoline burns.
So its not just the ethanol although Im not of fan of ethanol and am in no way defending it. Just the opposite, Im one of those that believe its an industry that cant sustain itself without heavy government subsidy, and is in effect farm welfare.
But, I have run ethanol additive gasoline in the midwest that was 92 and 93 octane and achieved 27-30 MPG on the highway, and 21-23 mixed driving (spirited too).
If our country had commited itself to a true energy policy like France did 40 years ago, things would look very different for us right now.
As it is, Id like to add race fuel to my tank, but I cant really take it with me on trips.
Oh well....
