About 6 years ago I had valet somehow take about a 7 inch long and 2 inch wide scratch out of the hood scoop in my 04 WRX. After about a week of complaining to anyone I could get ahold of in the valet company, they agreed to pay to get it repaired.
It was insignificant compared to what you are dealing with, just make sure to be persistent with them! Good luck with getting them to cover the repairs (as they should)!

this may be a no brainer but doesn't the engine actually log the past events of the last drive? couldn't you just hook up a laptop and see what happened? cops use this to scan wrecked cars to see how the car was driven before the point of impact

I'd hate to think that some poor college kid is going to get his *** handed to him for something that was inevitable.
Did you check the mileage before you handed over the keys?
If he went for a joy ride then string him up.

The place that did this is a place called Avantis and is in Dallas Texas. They usually don't have a valet service but did at the time because they were having some sorta special thing that night (apparently street races out back or something (sarcasm))
