Valet blew up my car and so here it is
well been said on here before but for you that do not know, Me and the wife went out one night and had valet park the car. Car was running fine when it was dropped off and got it back knocking incredibly bad, they actually let it run in front of the building until it shut off on its own. They are not wanting to pay for it because they state that they did not do it and that they do not drive cars hard at all. I was actually able to follow the oil trail about 1000 feet to where the car was originally parked at Got it home and this weekend the tear down started. Wish I could have went a little further but I am only working with one arm being that the other one still hurts from shoulder surgery.
I am going to be having Evolution Dynamics in Lewisville, Texas put in a Buschur stage 3 short block in it, still not to sure on what turbo setup that I would like to go with. I do know that I would like to get about 600-650 whp without a ton of lag. Any help/ideas is appreciated. Enjoy at my expense :-)
pulled the car in and got it all jacked up ready for some work:

got the pan pulled off for inspection:

when the pan came down this was the first thing that I seen:

looks like the issue is going to be in cylinder number 4 lol:

nice little chunk of what looks like could be piston skirt:

after seeing that it was cylinder number 4 I took the oil pump off so that I could see the rod:

well you can instantly tell that this is not good FML:

pulled the head off to see if the piston came up far enough to smack the valves but then I started to think that since it is a hemispherical style head that the valves might stop it before hitting the plug. In any event the plug was not smashed at all but was full of oil:

got back under the car to try and get the rod out. Had to use an extension and a rubber mallet to dislodge the bent/broke rod from the crank. I disconnected the plugs and bumped the motor over till the rod bolts were accessible. I had never seen a motor where you can not get at the rod and Main caps easily like this one. :

looked for the hole in the block and soon discovered it:

here is the piston and other half of the connecting rod. form what I could see the cylinder walls looked to be in pretty nice shape. (not that the block can be reused or anything):

sorry to hear. when I had the evo, the valet actually worshipped it that they let me park it on the valet parking area, they took pictures of it and not jaguar that was parked beside me.
Well I am glad that you are taking this so well but I think I would probably take legal action with them or at least get a lawyer to contact them to see if they budge on it.
Honestly though I am guessing the car would've crapped out soon after regardless if they managed to blow it up that easily.

Hopefully you took photos or something or recorded as much as you could as in wrote stuff down.
Honestly if you can get them to settle do that, going to court takes years and isn't worth it at all.
Hopefully just getting a lawyer will get them to cover the cost or some of it. Anything close to 5k and I'd take it.
Good luck man, let us know how it turns out.

Wow....was it a restaurant? I know the casinos here fix everything without question if the valets mess up your car. I'm afraid to valet my car even though my alarm has a valet function.
