Need Good Exhaust Suggestions
I got Tanabe Medalion Touring and its deep and mellow. but if you want loud exhaust then the Tanabe isn't for you. it's more on the quite side. Also mine is just a CB, if you add a high flow cat or test pipe and DP it might get louder.
I did extensive exhaust research over the last 4 months, pics-videos-posts on lots of exhausts. I wanted something that was quiet enough for a DD and still had some growl when you got on it. I didn't want to deal with getting ticketed and I wanted it to look good. I'm not a fan of the huge exhaust tips either. I was set on Perrin or Cobb TBE. I went with Cobb because I couldn't get past how the Perrin tips looked.
I just installed my Cobb quad-tip system the other day and I am very impressed. I wasn't sure about the quad tip, but once you see it in person it is very impressive. The exhaust took 20 mins to install (on a lift), zero fitment issues and everything lines up perfectly. Sound at idle has a distinguished low note that let's you know the car has an exhaust but doesn't intrude in the passenger compartment. Normal driving you hear the exhaust note, zero drone tested up to 75mph at cruise and once you put your foot down, it has an aggressive sound that doesn't sound like a rice rocket.
I picked Cobb also because it's C.A.R.B. approved and 50 state legal for decibel level with the HFC. Paired with stage 2 it's AP Cobb map the car rips now. I highly recommend this exhaust.

Here's a link for a quick video I shot today at work with my phone, gives you an idea of the sound. With the lighting its hard to see the exhaust, part of the reason why I like it.

Buschur Racing has some that sound really nice on their video's. I'm getting ready to order their Crossflow myself. was a combination of good sound, good price, and the absolute best fitment of any Catback exhaust I found.
Also, welcome to the community! There is an introduction board. you should post in there as well.

AMS full turbo back, very mean sounding, and once is on low RPM's it a different world.
My son has the Magnaflow on his 2011 GSR. Thing is so quiet, you really cannot tell the difference between it and stock. Does sound deeper when you rev it up. Absolutely no drone on the freeway at any speed. My son actually feels it is too quiet, so he may get a CP-E and I might take his Magnaflow as I don't like loud exhausts.
The Magnaflow was the 2nd catback I had on my X and there was nothing wrong with it at all, very nice system and easily the best bang/buck catback available. Just be sure to have the 2.5" neck-down cut off and a straight 3" section welded on if you plan to use it with anything but the stock cat.
I love my Perrin, its a little pricey but well worth it. ZERO drone at highway speeds, and very quiet at idle, has a very agressive tone under WOT, but not overley loud. IMO one of the better sounding exhausts for the X, but everyone will tell you something different.
Not a single issue from the police either.

I was getting worried that a perrin owner hasn't chimed in. i'm looking at their catback to pair with an AMS HFC. was gonna get their DP, but it's too expensive and i read the stock dp is pretty good as is.
can you see the muffler pipes through the tips? i heard the tips were a little short so the piping it connects to shows through...which isn't ideal.
the more i look at the perrin, the more i don't like the cut tips. i wish they rolled their tips.
