I'm doing the same with the GSR now with some TurtleWax Scratch and Remover I always keep her shining! :-D and a dude I know in town removes dings for 20 bucks or less

+1 That's exactly what I do, sometimes I park so far that I have to drop everyone off at the entrance then go park and walk back on my own haha

I park my car strategicaly and all that and every other time i wash my car i stil go: WTH?! Where did that come from?"
Its safe to assume that all Evo owners care about their car. Which means that you will pay a lot of attention to it. That in turn means that you WILL spot more dings and scratches faster then would someone who only checks now and then or who spots something coincedently.
Paint on the X is sucky but what happens to your Evo happens to all other cars regardless.
Cant avoid it

mine too,i find out there so many scratches and dents on the door especially cause some one must have been so jealous of our car look, and they cant damn afford it so they purposely open their door and ding into the evo,sigh..guess the car is just so goodlooking and it make so many others so jealous of its look.

Thin metal = lightweight

Park your car is safer areas. After 53k miles my IX didn't have a single door ding and after 24k miles same with my X.

in general i park next to a wall or curb and very near to the curb that is.
but on the road, can't avoid motorcycles squeezing in between cars and hitting my side mirror when traffic plus the streetchildren that smudge my windows and knock on the door shell with their coins. tsktsk

I feel you man. In my opinion, some people aren't as courteous as us when it comes to cars. Just gotta learn that most people won't give a **** about anything! I try to park as far as possible and deal with the long walks. Sometimes I even park in between two parking spots so people won't park next to me haha

Honda Civics are notorious for their bad paint and thin sheetmetal. Still, my 2007 Civic Si that I owned for 4 years had nary a ding or dent after 17,000 miles and only one, small paintchip. I park faaaar away from others in parking lots, try to park next to curbs and use a long, foam tube that is used for swimming to protect the side of my car that is exposed to other car doors. I also try to slightly angle in my parking spot that the doors are farther away from another car opening its doors.

Bottom line is that most people are careless and really don't respect the property of others.

Trust me... it's a lot better than the STI I drove. That thing reaped of cheap... face it, the exterior of these cars are offsetted by the internals. Trade off.

yea it becomes a way of life. I usually drop my fiancee off while I go look for the right spot, doesnt matter if its pouring rain, snow, whatever lol. Sometimes when we take her car I forget and still look for the far away spots before she reminds me its ok to park her car in a "normal" spot

You can do what I do…I find those spots that have the white striped spaces next to them (usually at the end of the row of spots) and I park with some of my car in the striped zone that way there is more space in in between me and the next spot!
