Eh, this guy test drove a Ralliart and not an Evo. The RA is intended to be more of a mass market car than the Evo. He has a point with the interior considering the RA is supposed to appeal to people beyond the niche Evo market; the broader the market, the more balanced a car generally is--no one single area is sacrificed for an extreme implementation in another area.

That said, his complaint about the shifter is nonsensical. Lifting up on the collar is little different than pressing the thumb button found on automatic transmissions. Only recently have gated shifters in automatics removed this need. This gripe took up nearly a fifth of the overall article. Did this really annoy him that much?

I see nothing wrong with this review? Perhaps I'm missing something?

The Mitsubishi car still uses that ugly mouse-hair fuzz on its cabin ceiling, the “headliner” in automotive parlance, at a time when most of its rivals have switched to a more attractive synthetic mesh. That is truly disappointing.
LOL. wtf...

I didn't know other manufacturers used mesh. My '07 Si had the fuzz too, I think...

Most car reviews forget the fact of "fun". There are different types of people out there and most do not understand that fun factor. It is a very generic concept but EVO drivers know exactly what it is.

As for the article, he/she drove a RA not an EVO. Ra is a little better than a GTS but still both the GTS and the RA gave me the same feeling whereas an EVO was out of this world. I kept my evo stock for almost a year but now that I have stage 2, I know exactly what this car needed and I am loving it now. Cannot wait to finish up my stage 3 but not anytime soon. Gonna enjoy stage 2 for possible another year and hit stage 3.

Well there aren't huge differences between the RA and evo x other than drivetrain system, launch control and turbo size. A stock RA with a tune is faster than a stock X, but a stock gts with a tune is not faster than a stock RA, so they really can't be compared that way. If you mod a gts with an X turbo you couldn't get over 250whp, where as most RAs push can push up to 400whp just like any MR or GSR. Mod for mod including turbo, the only real way to compare these cars are drivetrain or cosmetic differences. RAs use the Evo 9 AWD system.

On a side note, the second link review the reviewer said the Evo GSR and MRT were exactly the same on ride quietness. That tells me hes more full of **** than a Christmas Turkey, because he clearly did even drive both cars. Everyone knows the MRT is very quiet compared to the GSR due to the sound deadning material.
I agree. This can be said of pretty much any sports car.

There's nothing "wrong" with the review in a sense. He is reviewing from the standpoint of a typical car buyer, and the Ralliart was not built for the typical car buyer. Pretty much end of story.

He just doesn't get the Evo. Few do.

I like the mouse fur headliner. I like the cheap plastics. They're lighter than the materials used in other cars. I especially like the STOCK Recaros, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, BBS wheels, Yoko A13s, and Momo Design steering wheel. The 4B11T even has forged pistons! From the factory! And I also like the Getrag TC-SST, which this reviewer totally does not understand, it being set up for whatever driving experience...paddles on demand, or nearly-stick-shift, or ESP automatic that knows exactly when to shift, and in any one of three different modes. And especially I like the 3-mode all-wheel-drive system that is the most advanced on the planet.

Take that, Infiniti.

The X steering wheel was designed by Momo? You serious?

Speaking of reviewers we don't necessarily agree with, just saw this tidbit in Automobile Mag:

From http://www.automobilemag.com/feature..._cayman_r.html

Revised suspension geometry improves steering feel and handling balance, adding some soul to the GT-R's already impressive raw performance. In short, the GT-R is now a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo-like handler; a vehicle so incredibly adept at reading the intentions of the operator that it feels like an extension of the driver himself.
I didn't realize the GTR was playing catch up to the Evo in the handling department.

he's got to be the only reviewer to complain about the SST... Otherwise he's fairly on-point about the interior. It's rental-car quality honestly. One of the first things I did with my Evo was buy the Nav unit off ebay, and a gloss-black dash kit. Had to break up the dull look a bit. The stock radio is especially bad on the eyes, which was clearly his focus in this review. Id have to agree with lots of it unfortunately. It's fun being in a niche market, but to the average consumer, most won't pick a Ralliart because of how bland things get once inside the car.

The average person doesnt understand cars in general. Most just RIDE in their cars they dont DRIVE their cars, my wife is one of those people bought an outlander GT and wont ever take it off road. Their are riders and their are drivers people who push their cars are the drivers.
