Clutches smell, just like brakes do from time to time. Nothing to worry about unless your car is revving but not speeding up.

Yes, I believe the clutch has become just a tad bit softer.

Yes it is driving fine, 3rd day now, almost no smell inside the cabin, put my nose between the small space between the hood and fender (driver side) still has some smell. Taking some life off the clutch is acceptable, ive not had this issue with any other car ive had, so just was concerned.

Yes sir, I did the test on second gear today. Engaged fully in 2nd and floored the throttle up till around 5500rpm. The clutch is not slipping. I'm assuming the smell should go away completely, I'm just glad I didn't take the car to a mechanic/dealership because I was nervous, I'm sure they would have taken advantage of my situation....

I got about 54k miles out of mines before it got bad enough that I couldn't even drive it on the highway without slipping.

(yes, I got a new flywheel too when I upgraded)

Update 1 week later

Smell from the cabin completely gone, clutch is a tad bit softer or maybe its just me.... cant tell for sure. Clutch wasn't slipping or anything so we were good on that. I want to thank people who responded and hope this thread helps the next person who will glaze their clutch at some point in time and freak out!

Mine felt softer after the last evo/sti day and after taking it apart, the shop found that the clutch was definitely worn with heat spots on the FW.

My clutch did that a couple times. However, one day, while I was practicing for drag racing, I was launching and suffered a catastrophic clutch failure. You think glazing the clutch stinks? Try ripping off 2 square inches of clutch material. I could smell it in my clothes. My flywheel looked like a piece of modern art. I had ~41k miles (66k kms).
